We have a Brown Cow Currently Testing "Grass is Greener Theory"

Valley Springs, CA...There is currently a Brown Cow testing the age old theory and verifying that the grass is definitely greener on the other side of the fence at Lime Creek Roadway and Hwy 12. We suspect that when it has been determined that grass is just grass our bovine friend will return home. Animal Control has also been summoned so he or she may need to hurry or cattle prods may be tested as well. Use caution in the area...

Cosgrove Creek Flood Damage Reduction Meeting ~By John Hamilton with meeting video enclosed

Valley Springs, CA...The Sacramento District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Calaveras County and CCWD have partnered, under CAP Section 205, to conduct a flood damage reduction study. This study and potential project is part of the County’s ongoing efforts to reduce flooding damages in the Cosgrove Creek Area. They held a community meeting on January 28 at the Memorial Hall in Valley Springs. Supervisors Merita Callaway and Gary Tofanelli were on hand as well as representatives the Corps of Engineers, numerous representatives from the county, The COG, Community Groups and Citizens....

Family Displaced By House Fire

Valley Springs, CA...We just spoke with Jim at CAL-Fire TCU in San Andreas and there was a structure fire that completely destroyed a home in the Valley Springs area this morning. The fire displaced Three Adults and Three Children that the Red Cross is providing assistance to at this time. We will pass along the fire report as it becomes available and also pass along any requests for community assistance to the family if they are made.
