San Andreas, CA.....At the Calaveras County Planning Commission meeting held on Thursday morning, it was voted that the Murphys Creek Estates Project move forward. This was also one of Planning Director, Bob Sellman's, last meetings to preside over as he retiring year end. Full video of the meeting is enclosed. Calaveras County, CA....We just spoke with Karen Varni. They have finished counting all but the provisional ballots, which there are not very many of. Gary Tofanelli comes in with 2,364 votes, McDaniel 2004. Lee Seaton 2,198, Tom Tryon 2,367. So as of now, nothing has changed and Tofanelli and Tryon are triumphant. If needed more updates to come. Valley Springs, CA....The next meeting of the Greater Valley Springs Advisory Group will feature a question and answer session with Tim McSorley, Executive Director of the Calaveras Council of Governments (COG). COG was recently awarded a Community-Based Transportation Planning (CBTP) Grant from Caltrans in the amount of $204,648 to fund “Rural Smart Growth: A Community-Based Plan for Valley Springs.” Funding should be received in early 2009. The project will produce a community planning document....

Wallace, CA....We just spoke with Director of Calaveras County OES, Captain Clay Hawkins, they have apparently located the aircraft wreckage. The location of the plane is about 50 feet from Lake Camanche shoreline in the Camanche Parkway area.....

Valley Springs, CA...Multiple agencies continue to search for a missing experimental plane from the Rancho Murieta area. The Plane is believed to be a Globe GC. A second pilot saw the plane flying erratically and on further inspection saw the pilot possibly slumped over the controls. There have been various reports of the plane being seen in trouble in the Lake Camanche area early last evening. We first started following this story last night and we will post updates as they become available...

Valley Spring, CA...Authorities have finished notifications and have now released the name of the Valley Springs man that was killed in the early morning accident on November 1st. 49 year old Gregory T. Jones passed away when his 2000 Ford van failed to negotiate the turn at Milton Rd. and Mann Street in Jenny Lind....
