Calaveras County, CA...With the hot summer weather rapidly approaching, you are probably preparing yourself for the heat. Maybe you have traded those winter clothes for shorts and flip flops? Or taken that big, too-warm comforter off the bed already. Basically doing whatever it is you can do to stay cool this summer. Perhaps you prefer to spend those hot summer days relaxing outside? A deck can provide the perfect spot to kick back, relax and soak up some of that natural vitamin D! But, maybe your deck needs some work after sitting through a long, wet winter. Or maybe you tell yourself every year that this is the summer you'll have a deck installed?
Valley Springs, CA....The 1:30pm briefing just concluded and they are about 50% completed with the area canvasing and dive teams have completed searching two nearby ponds for possible evidence. On a personal note the stress of this case is clearly visible on Sheriff's Dept personnel involved in the investigation. As the press pool starts to thankfully shrink a bit it might be interesting to some of you what the pressure of a national story can bring to the area. The pictures below show about a third of the media trucks etc that were on hand. Virtually every TV Station in Northern California and CNN etc were on hand...

Valley Springs, CA...Caroline Frederica Garrison passed away at the age of 79, on Tuesday March 26, 2013, surrounded by love in her daughter's home in Valley Springs. She was born on December 5, 1933, in Monrovia, California, to Herbert McDuffy and Caroline Frederica (DeLong) Moore. Caroline was a very loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, auntie and friend. She was an inspiration to everyone she met with her warm sense of humor and kind giving spirit. She passed down a legacy of love throughout her family that will remain in our hearts forever, she will be sorely missed. She lived in Pleasant Hill for over 30 years, working in Real Estate and was a retiree of Bank of America. Diagnosed with Parkinson's in 1999, she continued to work until 2004, retiring without missing a single day of work and never complaining about a thing, she was always "fine". She moved to Jackson in 2006 to be closer to family and to experience all the joys of becoming a great-grandmother...
