Calaveras County, CA....Grant Barrett has served the legal needs of the Calaveras community for the past 18 years. He has over 12 years of experience on the bench in Calaveras County. Since 2006, Grant has served our community as the Calaveras Superior Court Commissioner where he regularly presides over family law and civil disputes. From 2011 through 2013, he also served as Court Commissioner for Amador County Superior Court, at their judges’ request, until a suitable replacement could be recruited and trained. In 2013, Grant was named Judicial Officer of the Year by the Child Support Directors Association of California.

San Andreas, CA....On April 19th the Calveras County Deputy Sheriff's Association held their annual Tri-Tip Dinner & Dance Fundraiser. It was also their most successful event to date. The San Andreas Town Hall was filled to the brim with the extended law enforcement family in our area. Great food, drinks and a gigantic silent and live auction brought in bid after bid and donation after donation. After all of the donating and auctioning Plan B entertained the crowd...

San Andreas, CA....As part of the ongoing partnership in support of the Food Bank, The West Calaveras Rotary Club and Calaveras High School Interact Club have donated $580 to the Food Bank. The money will be used to address needs in the Rotary Community Garden as well as to purchase food for distribution...

San Andreas, CA...With a focus on Law and Justice, Candidates for Sheriff and the two Superior Court Benches gathered for a questions and answer session at the San Andreas Town Hall on April 29. Two half-hour sessions for the judicial candidates were followed by a Q&A session for the Sheriff contenders. The evening started off with a meet and greet hour and the main event started at 7pm. The even provided an expanded look at those vying for the Benches in the Calaveras County courts...

This event was sponsored by the Calaveras Economic Development Company and the County Chamber of Commerce. The next event planned is a Candidates Night at Sequoia Woods Country Club on May 6th. San Andreas, CA....At approximately 1545 hours on 04/28/2014 A 56 year old San Andreas man was driving eastbound on SR-12 west of Central Hill Rd, around a sharp right curve. He swerved out of his lane into the opposing traffic lane to avoid colliding with a stopped cargo truck. His semi trucks mirror sideswiped the Ford F-250's mirror that was stalled in the opposing lane. His truck continued on to strike the mirror of the school bus that was parked directly behind the F-250....
