Prevailing southwest winds 10 to 25 mph decreasing to 5 to 15 mph in the afternoon. Gusts up to 40 mph. Over ridges...prevailing southwest winds 15 to 35 mph. Tonight Snow showers likely. Colder. San Andreas, CA...In preparation of the heavy rain and potential flooding predicted for this week the Calaveras County Office of Emergency Services and Public Works Department have stocked the following locations with sand bags and sand. Please limit the number of sand bags to 10 per resident and remember to bring your own shovel.

Valley Springs, CA...Seemingly all of Valley Springs turned out for the Ribbon Cutting of the New Grocery Outlet in Valley Springs. Local dignitaries from the Chamber of Commerce, Board of Supervisors Resource Connection, Rotary & lines of customers around the block were there for the Ribbon Cutting. One of the highlights was the $1,000 donated to Boy Scout Club Pack #352 Courtesy of Maria Carrera who donated her $200 Gift Card. Her generosity led Calaveras Telephone, Mark Twain Medical Center, Sierra Pacific Industries & Grocery Outlet to match her donation and raise the total to $1,000.

Vehicle Pursuit Leads to Felony Arrest of San Andreas Man |

Valley Springs, CA...On November 18, 2019, at about 9:30 PM, a Calaveras County patrol deputy recognized David Adams (38 years old, San Andreas), who was driving a vehicle with expired registration. The deputy was familiar with David Adams from prior contacts and was also aware that several arrest warrants existed for David Adams. The deputy initiated a vehicle enforcement stop near Burger King, Valley Springs. David Adams failed to yield to the marked patrol unit and accelerated away from the deputy at speeds over 80 MPH. During the pursuit, David Adams’ drove over curbs, veered off the roadway, and drove in the opposing lane for several hundred feet. David Adams drove to the end of McCauley Road where Deputies were able to block his vehicle and place him under arrest. Upon arrest, David Adams was found in possession of suspected methamphetamine.
