Services for Chandler Wallace Groves will be Tomorrow in Copperopolis |

Copperopolis, CA...Chandler Wallace Groves, a fourth generation Farmington area resident passed away April 4th, after a brief battle with cancer. He farmed the family farm for many years before becoming the owner of McDillards Feed and NAPA auto parts, both in Copperopolis. Chandler was outgoing and always ready to help others. He will be truly missed by his family, friends and the communities of Farmington and Copperopolis. He was a member of the Farmington United Methodist Church and a past member of the Farmington I.O.O.F..

Murphys, CA...It is with great sorrow that I must tell you that our son, Zachary Solomon Orman died Sunday after a paragliding accident near Tucson. We are still in shock and feel like we are in a bad dream.. He was in his third year of Medical School at the U of A. He was an excellent student achieving honors in almost all his rotations and achieving AOA honors and an award for Humanism. He was on his way to becoming an Emergency Physician. He enjoyed Rock Climbing, mountain biking and paragliding. He was 28...

Orman Family Struck with Tragedy as Son Loses Life in Paragliding Accident |

Las Cienegas, AZ...The family of Murphys resident Dr. Rodger Orman was struck with tragedy yesterday. Their son Zach passed away as the result of a paragliding accident. Keep them in your thoughts and prayers. From the Santa Cruz Arizona County's release on the accident. "On April 7, 2013 at approximately 1208 p.m., the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Communications Center received a 9-1-1 call advising of a paragliding accident that occurred at Las Cienegas National Conservation area. Sonoita-Elgin Fire personnel and sheriff's deptuies responed. According to sheriff’s deputies, the victim, Zach Orman, 28 years of age from Tucson Arizona, an assistant instructor with a paragliding organization, was attempting to land his glider when he encountered and was caught in a “dust devil”...

Mary Jane entered peacefully into the presence of the Lord while surrounded by her family at home on Friday March 29,2013 at the age of 74. Mary Jane was born in Merced Calif. and moved to Calaveras County Calif. in 1945 where she worked as Clerk Recorder for county government retiring in 20O4. While working for the government center she helped her husband Frank run the family bakery until 2003. MaryJane was loved and admired by everyone in her community...

Retired Attorney who received a double doctorate in Law and Political Science from a Hungarian University. He was a proud American since 1968 and a sweet man in all respects. San Andreas, CA...Charles Foster Dabler, or "Chuck" as his friends called him, was born on April 13, 1933 in Modesto, CA to parents Cletis Everett Dabler and Alma Erma McKibben Dabler. Chuck graduated from Modesto High School in 1952. He married Jaqueline Mariam Fernandez (Dabler) and was employed as a butcher by many grocery stores as well as being a heavy equipment operator.

West Point, CA...Sandra was born October 6, 1941 and was a member of the West Point Community Covenant Church. Sandra was a Ladies Missionary Sunshine Lady. She loved to send cards and letters and was an amazing Sunshine Lady. A great corespondent and wonderful friend. Sandra passed naturally on March 23, 2013 at the age of 71 in residence at Mark Twain Convalescent Hospital. She will be missed by all her friends and family....

Douglas Flat, CA...Jacquelyne Odell Silva, age 87, was born January 10, 1926 in Wendon, AZ and passed away surrounded by friends March 23, 2013 at her residence in Douglas Flat, CA. Jacquelyne came to Calaveras County with her late husband Henry in 1960. She was a retired chef who had work at the Lake Alpine Lodge, past owner of the Avery Gas Station, and the Sierra Pine Cone Co. that supplied locals and some Macy’s stores with holiday decorations for years. One of her passions was doll making and repairing and she won many prizes at the local fairs for her work. She was known to put old fishing weights in her dolls to give them the right feel and weight and would even create birth certificates for her creations. Jacquelyne also enjoyed knitting sweaters to perfection and would often give them as gifts to special friends. She will be remembered as a hard working woman who knew how to get things done... |

Murphy's, CA...Margaret Winkler died March 20th of natural causes at her home in Murphy's. She was born on April 11th, 1918 in Newman Ca. (maiden name Simmonds) and was the sixth of seven
children who all preceded her in death as did her first husband, Jim Milner, who was the Father to her two children, Pat Lien and Linda Leathers of Angels Camp. |
