Murphys, CA....Vern Winsby peacefully passed away on March 1, 2015 in San Andreas, CA. Born in Ukiah CA. on Dec. 28 1927. He moved at an early age moved to Pittsburg, Ca. where he grew up and attended school. After graduating from High School Vern served in the Army, and worked with his father. In 1952 he met his wife Gloria and was married. He was a successful businessman opening Winsby's Paint and Hardhardware in 1952 until 1970. He was also on the Pittsburg, CA Planning Commission, City Council and Served also as the Mayor of Pittsburg, CA. He was a Past President of the Junior chamber of Commerce and the Kiwanis Club and Director of the Chamber of Commerce all in Pittsburg, CA... |

Angels Camp, CA...Alfred Ashley Dias. On March 8, 2015, Judge Judy lost a loyal fan today. He passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Al was born June 15, 1933 in Merced, CA. He was drafted into the army in 1953. He served in Germany where he met Hannelore Schmidt. They were married on December 31, 1956 and settled in Angels Camp. He worked at the Calaveras Cement Plant in San Andreas. Al retired when the plant closed. He enjoyed spending time with his family, having coffee with his long time friends, checking the mail and watching Judge Judy...

Angels Camp, CA...Amy Ellen Schmid, age 75, born July 5, 1939 in Laird Hill, TX, passed away March 7, 2015 in Sonora, CA. Amy was a retired dispatcher for the Calaveras County Sheriffs Office, and a member of the Italian Catholic Federation. Amy is survived by her husband Ron of Altaville; son Kenneth Sterrett, daughter Deborah Richardson, and step-son Robert Schmid; 3 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; brother Benjamin (Lori) Quick of Citrus Heights, and sister Sandra Sue Collins of Dayton, NV. Amy was proceeded in death by her daughter Terri Sterrett and son Keith Sterrett.... |

Murphys, CA...Joyce Tanner peacefully passed away at her home in Murphys, CA March 1, 2015. Joyce was born in Hayward Wisconsin in August 1923. She moved to Murphys in 1948, where she met and married her husband of 65 years, Irvin Tanner. Joyce was a homemaker who enjoyed golf, bridge, dominos, puzzles and CHOCLATE! Angels Camp, CA...Jack W. Grundy, an eight year resident of Angels Camp died on February 27, 2015 from prolonged health problems. Born March 22, 1941 in Eureka, KS. His Parents were Victor and Louise Grundy of San Jose, Ca. Nimoy was best known for his role as Spock in the original Star Trek series (1966–69), and in multiple film, television and video game sequels. Murphys, CA...Randall “Randy” Michael Lagomarsino, born Sept. 9, 1948, passed on Saturday Feb. 21, 2015 at the age of 66. Randy was born and raised in Murphys, CA. After graduating from Calaveras High School and attending Columbia College he went on to work and retire from PG&E after 40 years as a meter reader. San Andreas, CA....At 3:27am this morning CHP received a call of an overturned sedan in the roadway near Hwy 49 and Gold Strike. One party was reported as trapped in the vehicle. Injuries proved fatal. More information will be provided as it is provided by CHP. Let's be careful out there...none of us know when this moment may be our last... |

San Andreas, CA...Early this morning at 3:25am Reanna Renee Silveira a 30 year old San Andreas woman was driving her 2001 Honda Accord on northbound on Hwy 49 South of Gold Strike Road. She was driving at an unknown rate of speed and for an unknown reason she lost control of her vehicle and left the roadway and collided with a dirt embankment. The impact caused her vehicle to overturn and collide with the roadway. She sustained fatal injuries as a result of the accident....

Mountain Ranch, CA....Early this morning at approximately 1:30am William T. Bolin, 20 of Valley Springs was driving a 1988 Toyota Pickup while intoxicated westbound on Swiss Ranch Road east of Miller Ranch Road at approximately 50 mph. Due to his intoxication he lost control of the Toyota and it overturned and collided with a wooden pole. None of the occupants were wearing their seatbelts. One passenger Anna Carter of Mountain Ranch sustained fatal injuries as a result of the collision. |
