Microsoft Co-Founder Paul G. Allen Has Passed Away from Cancer at 65 |

Seattle, CA...October 15, 2018 – The following statements were released today by Vulcan Inc. on behalf of the Allen Family, Vulcan Inc. and the Paul G. Allen network. It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of our founder Paul G. Allen, co-founder of Microsoft and noted technologist, philanthropist, community builder, conservationist, musician and supporter of the arts. Mr. Allen died on Monday afternoon, October 15, 2018, from complications of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in Seattle. Mr. Allen was 65 years old.

San Andreas, CA...Mary Ruth Burdg Baker was born on September 25, 1927, in Stockton, California, to Walter Samuel Burdg and Rose Pearl Hackett Burdg. She peacefully entered into rest in San Andreas on October 7, 2018, at the age of 91. Mary worked as a waitress at various locations for over 20 years. Upon retirement, she enjoyed being a grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother.

Murphys, CA...Charles J. “Chuck” Taylor, age 68, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 24, 2018, at his home in Murphys, California. He was born on May 24, 1950 in Dickinson, North Dakota to Vernon “Bud” and Jeanine L. Taylor. He attended school in Lodi, California and graduated with a GED. Chuck was honorably discharged from the U.S.Navy during the Vietnam War Campaign. He was a woodcutter by trade and helped friends with odd jobs in between. Chuck truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; visiting with friends and family, watching old movies, reading his large-print bible and spending memorable moments with his canine companion, “Rusty”.

Arnold, CA...Dr. Richard Oldenkamp passed away peacefully in his sleep at home in Arnold of congestive heart failure on September 16, 2018, at age 87. Dick was born on August 23, 1931 in Conrad, Montana to parents Clara and Dirk Oldenkamp. He is survived by his wife Hilary, children Bob (Vicky) Oldenkamp , Rick (Trisha) Oldenkamp, Dr. Sandy (Barney) Mann, Rev. Ron (Nancy) Oldenkamp, and Cheri (Joel) Hunter. He had 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and former wife Irene Oldenkamp.

Mervin L. Stewart Jr. 1933 - 2018 |

Angels Camp, CA...On September 22, 2018 our beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather Mervin “Bud” L. Stewart peacefully passed away with his family around him in Springfield, Oregon. He was born on July 8, 1933 to Mervin and Irma Stewart Sr. in Santa Cruz, California. In 1951, he joined the Air Force and was assigned to the 320th Bombardment Wing Squadron, Strategic Air Command at March Air Force Base California, after his training as a B-29 Stratofortress & B-47 Stratojet Flexible Aerial Turret Gunner at Lowry AFB, Colorado. He later obtained high security clearances for his involvement with the Nike Missile Defense mission. In December of 1953 the 320th deployed as a wing to Royal Air Force Brize Norton, England. Our Father was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation and the National Defense Service Medal.

Copperopolis, CA...Buddy Gene Odekirk (Odie) passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2018 surrounded by friends. Legendary for his magic, we know he’s somewhere saying, “that’s the first time that trick ever worked!” Odie was the second child born to Cecil Ray Odekirk and Vivian Smirl Odekirk on September 5, 1937 in Long Beach, California. He grew up in Ogden, Utah and Priest River, Idaho. Odie joined the Army in 1954 where he became a Draftsman. During his military career he was on the regimental boxing team and also officiated boxing all over Europe.

Murphys, CA...Dora Elizabeth (Wilson) Geto. Born May 30th 1928 to George and Ella Wilson. She was the last surviving of eleven children. Entered into rest September 22nd 2018. Dora was a lifelong resident of Calaveras County. Dora married Loius Geto and had 2 children. Louis Geto Jr & Yolonda Geto. Dora was a homemaker, bartender and later in life a housekeeper for many families. One of her greatest joys was her annual trips to Virginia City with family.

Brown Jr. on Sep 19 issued the following statement regarding the death of California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) Highway Maintenance Leadworker William D. Casdorph: “Anne and I mourn the loss of Caltrans Highway Maintenance Leadworker William D. Casdorph, a dedicated public servant who worked to make our roads safer for nearly two decades. On behalf of all Californians, we extend our deep condolences to his family, friends and the Caltrans community as they struggle to cope with this sudden loss.”

Governor Brown on Death of Sacramento County Sheriff’s Deputy |

Sacramento, CA...Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. on September 17th issued the following statement regarding the death of Sacramento County Sheriff’s Deputy Mark Stasyuk: “Anne and I extend our deepest condolences to Deputy Stasyuk’s family, loved ones and colleagues and ask all Californians to keep them in your thoughts during this difficult time.” Deputy Stasyuk, 27, was fatally shot September 17th while responding to a disturbance at a business in Rancho Cordova. Another Sacramento County Sheriff’s Deputy was injured during the incident and is recovering.

Lee D Glenn, 60 of Railroad Flat Passed Away in Rail Road Flat Road Collision |

Rail Road Flat, CA...On Saturday, September 15, 2018, at an unknown time Glenn was riding his motorcycle south on Railroad Flat Rd, south of Sierra Oaks Dr. at an unknown speed. As the roadway curved to the left, Glenn failed to follow the roadway and allowed his vehicle to drive off the right roadway edge. The vehicle struck a tree and both the motorcycle and Glenn came to rest at the bottom of a steep culvert, 10-12 feet below the roadway edge. Glenn was reported as missing person to the Calaveras County Sheriff Department and the CHP and the Sheriff Department searched an area south of the collision scene based off of GPS from Glenn's cell phone. The area was searched on Monday night and Tuesday afternoon. CHP airplane, Air-21, was used to search from the sky. All searches were unsuccessful. The collision was discovered on September 18, 2018, at 5:30 pm by a resident checking their mailbox.
