Steve J. Pipes Passed Away on February 10th, 2010

Steve, age 50, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones on February 10, 2010 from complications of an industrial injury. Steve was born at the Community Hospital in Lodi on June 19, 1959 to James A. and Bonnie H. Pipes. Steve attended Lodi schools, especially enjoying the sports programs. Steve played on youth and adult baseball teams. He loved hunting, fishing with his grandpa Orville Bennett and Uncles, Dennis and Wayne .....

Memorial Service Planned for Copperopolis Man Who Lost His Life in Tragic Accident

Copperopolis, CA....A Memorial Service is planned for Copperopolis resident, Warren Lee Freedlun, age 76, who lost his life in a tragic auto accident over the weekend. A Native of Kansas City, MD., Mr. Freedlun previously lived in Vacaville then in Copperopolis for 21 years. He was a Heavy Equipment Operator for Travis Air Force Base for 23 years. Warren was a member of Cross Roads Church in Copperopolis, CA and a member of Bay Area Roadsters Car Club. He is survived by his wife Kathy Freedlin of Copperopolis; A son, Mark Freedlin of Bend OR; daughter in law Kim Saraq of Bend, OR; 3 Grandchildren, Andrea Freedlin of Reno, NV, Maria and Gabrielle Saraq of Bend, OR. Copperopolis, CA...Crews are still working a major injury rollover accident on Hwy 4 and Telegraph involving a possible fatality. The road was closed for a short time. The Coroner has been called and should be on scene now. There was at least one party ejected and one pinned in. Please Avoid the area if possible..

Bear Valley, CA...It was an amazing evening in Bear Valley as hundreds of people came from all over for the Celebration of Life for Mike Young. As the normal ski day came to a close the crowd in Bear Valley seemed to grow instead of shrink as people arrived to pay their respects and celebrate the life of Bear Valley's Snowsports Director who passed away just after Thanksgiving. The attendees included a veritable "Who's Who" of Bear Valley's Past & Present. It was a special night in honor of a man who was at the center of Bear Valley's Snowsports programs for decades...

Leaving behind her beloved husband Ken, daughter Missey, son Bob, brothers Rollie, Scott and Jerry and sisters Penny and Paula, mother Bette, Stepmother Bobbie and grandchildren Jennifer, Lindsey, Christy, Tyler, Annie, Brendan, and Connor, nieces and nephews. Paloma Resident Carlton Merrill Berry died Monday, January 11, 2010

Paloma, CA...Carlton Berry was born in Sheldon Junction, Vermont, on December 4, 1921. While in Vermont, he also lived in Fairbanks and Rutland. In 1942, after Pearl Harbor, he enlisted in the Navy and served in World War II. Carl served as a Radio Man on the USS Cachalot SS170 and the USS Ramora SS487. After the war, he operated a taxi business in Rutland, Vermont, with his brother Jim. One of his most memorable moments in Rutland was when he delivered the Christmas Tree to Rockefeller Center in Times Square...

Calaveras County, CA...Raymond Gene Kempton of Murphys, CA, born in Jackson, CA., passed away unexpectedly in Sonora Community Regional Hospital at the age of 42. He was a graduate of Placer Higher School in Auburn, CA., where he lived for 20 years and had many immediate family and friends. He moved to Murphys in 1987 to be close to his Father, brother and sister. Ray worked for Kautz Ironstone Winery for 6 years before retiring on medical disability. He enjoyed playing cribbage, shooting pool, spending time in the Murphys Park with his friends and helping others. Ray was very well known in the area and will be sorely missed by many people!.....

Leila Nayden has Passed Away

San Andreas, CA...At the age of 75, Leila peacefully passed away with her loving family by her side on January 9, 2010. Leila came into this world on May 25, 1934 in Angels Camp, California. She lived with her brother George, mother Doris and father Volney in Angels Camp for only a short time before moving to San Andreas. She went to San Andreas grammar school and graduated from Calaveras High School in 1952.....
