Local 8th Grader Headed to State Science Fair.....Still A Little Short of His Goal

Calaveras County, CA...Update 4/28/11: Michael has received some very generous donations from our viewers! The family is so thankful! "I am so excited for him, what a wonderful opportunity he has before him and with his drive to do the best he can, hopefully he will place during the state competition. He is going to go back to the IGA in Copperopolis again tomorrow with his project to answer questions and share what he has discovered. Hopefully by the end of the day he will have reached his goal , he has a baseball game on Saturday morning" States Michael's Grandmother, Cindi Bent.....Local 8th grader, Michael Legge is headed to the State Science Fair! Michael won 1st place at the Calaveras County Science Fair in his division with his project "Mysterious Bacteria vs. Evil Tobacco." Michael is a student at Mark Twain Elementary and needs our help! Here is a letter from Michael: "Hello my name is Michael Legge and I am an 8th grade student at Mark Twain Elementary School. Mark Twain doesn't require students to do science fair projects but I went out and did one on my own. .....

Patricia Eleanor Gaultney of Angels Camp passed away peacefully on April 18, 2011 at the Mark Twain Convalescence Hospital in San Andreas. Pat had just celebrated her 93rd birthday. Born in Arlington, Washington, she spent her teen years in Pasadena roller skating and helping with the Rose Parade. She moved to Angels Camp after meeting and marrying her soul mate, Norris “Dude” Gaultney where they raised their three children.....

Calaveras County, CA....Tim was born in North Little Rock Arkansas on April 17, 1951. At a young age, Tim's family moved to Southern California, residing in Pasadena, CA. Later the moved to the Central Valley and settle in Ripon, CA, where Tim graduated from Ripon High School. After a few jobs, Tim entered the California Highway Patrol Academy where he graduated May 1975 after 16 weeks of instruction. He worked for the CHP for approximately 20 years, with assignments in East Los Angeles, Baldwin Park, Monterey, Modesto and San Andreas.....

Altaville, CA.....Altaville resident, Ann Marie Pittman, so sadly passed away on April 8, 2011 at her residence. She was only 33. Ann Marie lived in Altaville for 3 years. She was a Homemaker for 10 years. Ann was a member of the Union Congregational Church in Angels Camp. She is survived by her husband, Ray Pittman and two children, Rayven and Ratana.....

Arnold, CA....Rick Hecker, 67, of Arnold, CA, passed away Apr 8, 2011. Rick was born in East St Louis, IL on Nov 1, 1943. As an adolescence, Rick moved to Sepulveda, CA where he graduated from James Monroe High School. Rick played football in high school and was, of course, a star. Since 1975, Rick has lived in Calaveras County. As a member of the Calaveras County Association of Realtors, he served as Chairman of the MLS for 4 terms, was on the Board of Directors for 8 terms and President for 2 terms. Rick was named Realtor of the Year (1992) and became a member of the Association of Realtor’s Hall of Fame (2001).....

Mark Lewis Wright, 46 born November 22, 1964 died Sunday March 6, 2011 in Westpoint, CA. He is survived by his wife Paula Wright, children Andrew and Katie Robinson of Chico, mother Marjorie Wright and brother Matt Wright of Westpoint. Sister Leona (Jeanie) Brewer and nephew Billy Blevins of Oklahoma, nieces Sara and Megan Wright of Westpoint. Father-in-Law Lloyd Helmers and brothers-in-law Brian Helmers of Oroville, Shon Agan of Chico...

Chuck has two sisters-Christine Ghiselli (Bob) from Pittsburg, CA and Candace Duda (Jerry) from Sacramento, CA. Uncle to three nephews and three nieces.
