Culver City, CA...(November 8, 2020) – JEOPARDY! is saddened to share that Alex Trebek passed away peacefully at home early this morning, surrounded by family and friends. He was 80 years old. Alex was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in March 2019, and he continued to host JEOPARDY! for the next 18 months.
Simi Valley Man Loses Life in Rail Road Flat Road Collision

West Point, CA...A 67 year old Simi Valley man was driving his Ford pickup southbound on Railroad Flat Rd. at an unknown rate of speed when he allowed it to drift off the west side of the roadway and up an embankment. His F250 overturned down the embankment and landing directly on its roof in the southbound traffic lane. He was trapped in his vehicle until he was removed by fire department personnel. Unfortunately, he sustained fatal injuries as a result of this collision. He was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.

Angels Camp, CA...Rand Edwin Claussen (“Randy”) was born December 8, 1943 to Forrest and Helen Claussen in Auburn, CA. He was the second of 4 children; Dale followed by Randy then Sue Ann and Carole. After high school, he began his career working for the California Division of Forestry (CDF) for the Nev/Yuba/Placer Ranger Unit in Auburn as a firefighter. His first boss, Ski Pratt, would go on to be one of Randy’s last bosses in Tuo/Calav Ranger Unit, followed by Ken Onstad. He was transferred to Twain Harte in the late 60’s. He was one of several people working and putting in the helitack pad at Columbia. He was promoted to Fire Captain and transferred to the Sonora station in the early 70’s and after his helicopter crash in 1973, he was transferred to the Murphys station and later, in 1979, to the Copperopolis station where he would end of career in December of 1996.
Valley Springs, CA...Michael was born in Glendale, CA on January 25, 1947 and passed away on September 29, 2020 at his home in Valley Springs. Beloved husband and father who is survived by his wife, Diane and son, Jason of Valley Springs also survived by his brother William of Hawaii and sister, Nanette of Lodi.
Angels Camp, CA...On Saturday September 26, 2020 devoted husband, father and grandfather Raymond Charles Foppiano passed away in San Andreas, CA after a long illness. Ray was born to Peter & Elva Foppiano on April 22, 1927 and was a lifelong resident of Angels Camp. In 1945, at 18 years old, he was drafted into the US Army. After training he was sent to Germany for the Army of Occupation and worked his way to become a staff sergeant and was the manager of a supply warehouse that provided automotive parts for occupation vehicles.
Angels Camp, CA...Otto Freidrich Rabe, Ill, October 04, 1941 - May 30, 2020. We lost an amazing man of GOD. Heaven gained an awesome, incredible new tenor in it's choir. Otto was a kind, fun loving Godly man, who had a tender heart full of compassion for all. He worked in the medical field & gave his best to all of his patients. He saved many lives in his years of service. They appreciated & loved him.
Avery, CA...Jim Harmuth was born on August 21, 1938 in Hutchinson, Kansas. As a kid he spent time He passed peacefully at his Avery CA. home on September 17, 2020 and was accompanied by his immediate family at the time of his passing. Jim served in the Marine Corps. for four years and was honorably discharged as a corporal in 1959. He was certainly proud to serve his country. While serving in the Corp his employment included law enforcement until he was employed as a Union Ironworker Local 378 for 35 years until his retirement as a Foreman.
36-year-old Jonathan Michael Andrus from Pine Grove Man Lost His Life in Fatal Motorcycle Collision on Hwy 108 (Update)

Pinecrest, CA...On September 19, 2020 at approximately 1:30 PM, a 36-year-old Jonathan Michael Andru from Pine Grove, CA was riding a 2017 Aprilia motorcycle westbound on State Route 108 east of Clarks Fork Road at approximately 65 miles per hour. For unknown reasons, the rider lost control of his motorcycle and traveled off the north roadway edge of State Route 108. After leaving the roadway, both the motorcycle and rider traveled down and embankment, approximately 40-50 feet and struck a tree. Unfortunately, the rider succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
