Services for Staci Strahl To Be Held Tomorrow at Foothill Community Church

Angels Camp, CA...Staci Strahl so sadly passed away on 10/27/11 after a long battle with stomach cancer. Staic was a mother of two daughters Abigail 16, and Quintessa 13. She was married to her husband Matthew for 27 years. She was preceded in Death by her Mother Gean McFadden. In addition, to her family she is survived by her father Jarrold Haas, her brother Steven Haas, her nieces Nicole Haas, and Maya Haas, and her step-father Michael McFadden....

Memorial Services for Betty Ann Prescott Planned for This Sunday at Big Trees State Park

Calaveras Big Trees State Park, CA...A memorial service for Betty Ann Prescott, a community leader in the Ebbetts Pass area for almost 50 years, will be held at Jack Knight Hall in the state park at 1:30 p.m. Sunday Nov. 6. She was a major contributor to volunteer efforts at Calaveras Big Trees State Park, and a pioneer in professional, educational, and volunteer areas, plus an early promoter of winter sports in the Bear Valley area. Ms. Prescott served for several years as a member of the board of directors of Calaveras Big Trees Association. Just before her death she completed a project to build an engineering scale model of the new Visitor Center at the state park, a project she helped raise money to build.....

Motorcyle Accident on Hwy 26 Turns Fatal....Richard Arnold Crosse Passed Away

Valley Springs, CA...(Update...Wednesday Morning...Notifications have now been done. CHP has released the name of the deceased. Richard Arnold Crosse lost his life in this accident and his mother Adelle Crosse suffered major injuries. The release has been updated as well...... So sadly, the accident we reported on earlier today turned out to involve one fatality. Press release is as follows....On November 1st at approximately 2:15pm a 2001 Jeep Cherokee , driven by a Valley Springs women was traveling westbound on Hwy 26 just west of Hogan Dam Road. A 2001 Harley Davidson motorcycle ridden by another Valley Springs resident was traveling eastbound on 26. She allowed her Jeep to travel across double yellow lines and into the eastbound lane, into the path of the Harley Davidson. The rider of the motorcycle succumbed to his injuries and the female passenger was transported to Kaiser South with major injuries...

Murphys, CA...Just a quick note...We were told by Angels Memorial Chapel that the formal obituary should be ready today or tomorrow but many of you have been following the long and brave battle Staci Strahl has been fighting with cancer. She lost her battle on October 27th....

Thomas Arnold Jensen died peacefully at home on October 24, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his 8 children, 15 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter and his brother Bobby. He lived a most blessed life to the very end and will always be remembered as a man devoted to his family. Tom was born in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota, on October 12, 1921. His mother Kathleen raised him and his younger brother Bobby, moving the family to the Bay Area in 1937. He gave 24 years of Naval service to his country, retiring as a Lieutenant Commander. Tom raised his family in Sunnyvale, working for 25 years at Lockheed. He shared 55 years of marriage with his greatest love on earth, his lovely wife Anne, who passed away in 2007...

Murphys, CA...Eva Spillane, 82 from Murphys passed away from injuries sustained in a accident on Utica Grade last month. She passed away on October 20th at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Stockton. On September 26th at about 5:45pm she was driving her Jeep Cherokee eastbound on Highway 4, east of Murphys when she allowed her vehicle to run off the south side of the road...

Kovacs Memorial BBQ In Copperopolis October 29th

Copperopolis, CA...This fundraising event is taking place Saturday, October 29 from 11-5 at Bridlewood Equestrian Center in Copperopolis. On September 18, Copperopolis residents Rick Kovacs and his granddaughter, Jordan Kovacs, died from carbon monoxide poisoning while attending a gymkhana horse show in Clements. Jordan was only 14 and had gone to Copperopolis Elementary (her younger brother, Brody, 8, still attends there) and was currently attending Mark Twain School. She and Rick were also active members of Copper Hills 4-H. Their family has had to deal with two tragic deaths and two burials...

Glencoe, CA...Philip Lawrence Avallon of Glencoe passed away Friday Oct. 14th, 2011 at the age of 57 after a long battle with liver disease. Philip was born May 2, 1954 in Peabody, Mass to Donald & Laura Avallon. After his discharge from the Army in 1973 he moved to Portland, Oregon where he worked for Portland Williamette. He then moved to Glencoe, CA in 1982 where he had lived for the next 27 years....
