Modesto, CA...The following is from Bill Zoslocki..."As a close friend of the Johnson family, and former student of the widow's father, Dave Mesenhimer, I've been asked to provide the following statement regarding her husband's tragic plane accident. This will be the only statement from the family for now. Trent Johnson had a passion for flying. Since he was a little boy he dreamed of flying, eventually getting his pilot's license, and marrying into a family who also loved to fly.

New York, NY..."Gloria Laura Vanderbilt (February 20, 1924 – June 17, 2019) was an American artist, author, actress, fashion designer, heiress, and socialite. She was a member of the Vanderbilt family of New York and the mother of CNN television anchor Anderson Cooper. During the 1930s she was the subject of a high-profile child custody trial in which her mother, Gloria Morgan Vanderbilt, and her paternal aunt, Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney, each sought custody of her and control over her trust fund. Called the "trial of the century" by the press, the court proceedings were the subject of wide and sensational press coverage due to the wealth and prominence of the involved parties, and the scandalous evidence presented to support Whitney's claim that Gloria Morgan Vanderbilt was an unfit parent.

Lake Tulloch Plane Crash Update...Plane Located in 110 Feet of Water & Recovery Underway

Copperopolis, CA June 16, 2019 at about 11:40 AM, the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office received multiple reports of a plane crash near Poker Flat shoreline at Lake Tulloch. The plane was observed flying low over the lake when it was reportedly hit some high tension power lines and entered the water. The plane immediately became fully submerged before witnesses could get to the plane. The plane is described as a single engine yellow aircraft. The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office, Department Fish and Wildlife, Cal-Fire, Copperopolis Fire, and Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office responded and continued to search the area with negative results. Search efforts continued throughout the night.

San Andreas Man Perished in Hwy 49 Collision Yesterday

Jackson, CA...On June 10, 2019, at approximately 1545 hours, CHP Amador officers responded to a head-on traffic collision on SR-49 south of Sandra Road. The investigation determined that Thomas Diemier, 95 of San Andreas was driving his Lexus RX350 northbound on SR-49 at an undetermined speed. A 38 year old Plymouth man was driving a 2018 GMC Denali southbound on SR-49 at 55 MPH. Diennier crossed over the solid double yellow lines into the southbound lane in order to pass a logging truck, which placed his vehicle directly into the path of Vasko's vehicle. The front of the Lexus collided with the front of the GMC causing disabling damage to both vehicles.

TCU Cal Fire Captain Stacy Hamilton Dies in Merced County Vehicle Crash

Columbia, CA...The CAL FIRE Tuolumne-Calaveras Unit is deeply saddened to report the death of Fire Captain Stacy Hamilton, from the CAL FIRE Tuolumne-Calaveras Unit. In 2006, Stacy Hamilton started with CAL FIRE after previously working for the United States Forest Service. He was hired in the Tuolumne-Calaveras Unit and assigned to the Sierra Training Center, Forestry Training Program. There he trained inmates for four (4) years until he transferred to the Columbia Helitack Program and began his devotion to the CAL FIRE Aviation Program. In 2013, Stacy moved into the fixed wing side and was assigned to Columbia Air Attack Base as an ATGS on AA440. Stacy was a skilled and professional Air Tactical Group Supervisor.

Gladys Mae Jeff 1944 - 2019

West Point, CA...West Point, CA...Surrounded by her loving family, Gladys Mae Jeff, 74, entered into rest on May 27, 2019 in Manteca, Ca. She was born November 26, 1944 in Sonora, California to the late Manuel and Eva Jeff. Gladys preceded in death by her siblings David Jeff and Frances Grow. Ms. Jeff is survived by her children; Brian Dunlap, Berry Montch Jeff and Daveen Williams (Doug). She was blessed by nine grandchildren; Raquel Williams (Jimmie), Asumute Williams, Isabella Williams, Kyle Dunlap, Adam Dunlap, Alex Dunlap, Autumn Vallerga, Dreama Vallerga and Cheyenne Jeff. She has one surviving sister Mildred Burley as well as many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Ed Franke 1937 - 2019

Hathaway Pines, CA...A Celebration of Life for Ed Franke of Hathaway Pines is scheduled for Saturday, June 8th, 2019, Mountain Christian Fellowship, Murphys at 11am. Edmund Louis Franke Jr. (“Ed”) went to the Lord on May 12th, 2019 with his loving family by his bedside. He was 82 and a resident of Hathaway Pines, CA for 24 years. Ed was born on February 21st, 1937 in Oakland, CA to Edmund Louis Sr. and Yvonne Francis Franke. He was preceded in death by his sister, Kay Franke in 2002 and by his beloved wife, Nancy Jean Franke in 2016. Ed graduated from Castlemont High in Oakland in 1955. He served in the Navy Reserve from 1957-1963. He married Nevada Stanaland in1960 and had two children, Jennifer Engstrom and James Franke. He later married Nancy Jean Stotts in 1996 (quiet ceremony in Reno, NV) and again shortly thereafter in Murphys, CA. The Franke’s moved to Hathaway Pines after both retiring from the City of Hayward.

Fatal Collision on Hwy 108 Takes Life of Tuolumne Woman

Sonora, CA...On Thursday, May 16, 2019 just before 8:30 pm, a 21 year old female Tuolumne resident was driving a 1991 Chevrolet pickup, traveling westbound on Highway 108 approaching Hess Avenue. For unknown reasons, the driver allowed the vehicle to cross over solid double yellow lines, across the eastbound lane, and off of the south road edge down a steep embankment.
