Posted by: thepinetree on 05/03/2010 08:39 AM

Arnold, CA...The Arnold Rotary Club sponsored the replacement of the aging sign that graced the entrance to Arnold with beautiful new structure that should still be standing as Rotary International Celebrates it's 200th birthday. Hours and hours of labor were donated by local contracting firm Bertini Mechanical with help from CAM Welding and many others. The sign celebrates the 100th Birthday of Rotary and when we spoke with Paul Bertini last week he said with the 5 yards of concrete, lots of steel and impressive beams it should outlive all of us. Thanks to Arnold Rotary and all the local craftsmen the "Gateway to the Big Trees" just got a whole lot brighter...

Fishing on Highway 4 has been limited due to the snow pack. White Pines was the hot spot over the weekend. We finally got our lake lake planted this past Wednesday. Our customers had a field day. Most of our customers caught limits with some Rainbow's measuring up to 20". At White Pines Lake you should try floating Power Eggs, Gulp Eggs, new Salmon Egg scented power bait, new Garlic scented Power Bait, Gulp Power Bait, Gulp Nightcrawlers, salmon eggs, and nightcrawlers using a cast-a-bubble and a 30" leader. Fly fishermen should try bead head woolly buggers, ants, and sparrow nymphs on a intermediate line or try using a small split shot to get down to the fish. Lure fishermen have been having a field day using Panther Martin's, Kastmasters, and Rooster Tails.....
