Arnold Lions Participate in the Friends of the Library Trivia Bee

This was another wonderful Trivia Bee, with our team of Norm Friborg, Lions Larry Haskell and Roger Hawkins. We all enjoyed the Trivia, which this year was the Oscar’s Theme. Our guy’s did very well completing all three rounds for the first time!! The questions centered around the “Famous Days of Hollywood”. Our chapter had a table of sixteen and the Friends of the Library Staff really enjoyed our enthusiasm. Marilyn and Gary Lewis did the arranging of this for us and again a great job with fun for all....

White Pines Resident, Bruce Daniel Linebaugh,Has Passed Away

Longtime White Pines resident, Bruce Daniel Linebaugh passed away on February 13th, 2009 at his residence in White Pines. He was 77 years old. Mr. Linebaugh was Co-owner of SC Linebaugh Logging Company for 52 years. He was a naval veteran of the Korean War. He is survived by his wife Sarah Annette Linebaugh of White Pines and sons Kevin and Craig Linebaugh also of White Pines, 11 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren. Services to be held at a later date....

Basic Training for new and continuing volunteers will be held on Wednesday, March 4, from 9 a.m. to Noon and Tuesday, and March 24 from 9 a.m. to Noon. The Star Spangled Banner was sung with flair by students and staff while they waved small flags given by the Arnold Lions Club last Friday in a special assembly at Hazel Fischer School. Whit Whitfield of Arnold Lions brought an entourage of gold-vested fellow Lions while he explained to students the service goals of the local Lions. Students were familiar with the Fourth of July weekend pancake breakfast that the Lions host as a service club fundraiser.....
