CALAVERAS HUMANE SOCIETY OPENS NEW ADOPTION CENTER IN ARNOLD....Finding an Animal Companion is Now as Easy as a Trip to the Store

Posted by: thepinetree on 03/25/2010 11:11 AM
VALLECITO, Calif. –The Calaveras Humane Society is making it easier to find a four-legged companion. The CHS recently opened an adoption center in its new thrift store located at 2182 Highway 4 in the Meadowmont Shopping Center in Arnold. It will feature cats and dogs ready for adoption. "This location gives us a convenient, consistent location for animal adoptions,” said Blair Wiley, president of the CHS. “Before we opened this adoption center, we were limited to our mobile Adopt-a-Pet events and petfinder.com. The center couldn’t have come at a better time. The number of homeless pets in Calaveras County has increased in direct proportion to the declining economy.” ...

Candidate Interview with District 3 Supervisor Challenger Bill McManus

Posted by: Kim_Hamilton on 03/18/2010 06:11 AM
Arnold, CA...This is the first in our series of Candidate interviews for this year's Elections. These are not meant to be confrontational but hopefully let the Candidates show the voters who they are and why they are running. Our first interview this year is with Republican Supervisor Candidate , Bill McManus. This race will be a hotly contested one as many believe it has the potential to change the voting balance on the board. The Hanford Hill resident is seeking to replace long serving and current Supervisor Chair, Merita Callaway. The 59 year old Hanford Hill resident is ready and raring to go. You may have even seen the campaign signs that have sprung up along Hwy 4 the last few days. The interview and Candidate's Statement are enclosed...

John Hamilton and Bill McManus
