Spicer Res. is now open. Fishermen are having a field day now that Spicer has finally opened. Just remember HOBART CREEK IS OFF LIMITS until July 1,2010. The lure fishermen have been doing good using Panther Martin spinners, Rooster Tails, Blue Fox spinners, and Kastmasters. Fly fishermen should try woolly buggers, ants, caddis, and egg patterns. Bait fishermen should try Gulp Eggs, Gulp Nightcrawlers, Garlic and Salmon Egg scented Power Bait, inflated nightcrawlers, and floating Power Eggs using a cast-a-bubble wita 24" to 30" leader or a sliding sinker rig.. Trollers should try top lining Apex, Needlefish, Wedding Rings, Glo-Bugs, Rapala's, and Rocky Mountain Lures behind a small dodger .....

Arnold, CA....It was the last day of school for Hazel Fischer Elementary, and boy do they know how to throw a party! The staff did a funny dance for the kids along with Principal, Brett Loring, having a "Sit on it" balloon contest with the kids. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful school system in Calaveras County.

Avery, CA...Last Night was a great night for the graduates, friends & families of the 2010 Graduating Class from Avery. There were great speeches, students honored and even a standing ovation for Mathew McCullough after his touching speech that brought things into perspective for not only his fellow students and also the parents of healthy children....
White Pines, CA....The Sierra Nevada Logging Museum dedicated a brand new memorial to honor loggers or mill workers that have died in the line of duty. This is a regional memorial for the entire Sierra Nevada region. With logging being such a large part of our area's history the new memorial makes great addition. The logging museum's Bill Kafka constructed the monument with materials and services donated by many in the community...
