Labor Day weekend is this upcoming weekend. Make sure to make your reservations ahead for your favorite spot. FREE fishing is on Labor Day September 7th. No fishing license required for that day. Lake Alpine will be planted this week for the Labor Day weekend. Fishing has been excellent these past weeks due to the increased fish planting. The fish have not been large, but very plentiful. The earlier you can get there the better you will do. Bait....

EPSBA CHOSEN FOR NATIONAL ECONOMIC STUDY....Effort Will Quantify Economic Benefits of Scenic Byway Designation |

Arnold, CA....The Ebbetts Pass Scenic Byway Association has been chosen as one of just six Scenic Byways across the country to participate in the development of an economic model to gauge the impact of Scenic Byway designation on adjacent local communities. The first phase of the project will be a visitor use survey distributed to participants in the upcoming Ebbetts Pass Scenic Celebration on September 12.....

Arnold, CA....Brian Philip Pierce, of Arnold, passed away of Natural Causes on August 17th, 2009 at Mark Twain St. Josephs Hospital. He was a 52 year old Teacher. "Brian loved baseball, fishing, adored music and was a guitarist. He was an exceptionally sweet man, handsome and brilliant. Brian was a totally loving and caring person, and will be greatly missed." Hs is survived by his mother, Lois Dalton of Arnold; Father, Jack Pierce of Tiburon and a sister, Blaire Pierce of Texas..... |

Motorcyle Ride In Memory of Jim Telezinski Planned |

Arnold, CA....There will be a Motorcycle ride in memory of Jim Telezinski who recently passed away. It will be Saturday September 12, 2009 at 9:30am, meet at the north end of Meadowmont Shopping Center we will depart about 10:00am for one of his favorite short rides to the town of Bear Valley for coffee and stuff. This is a no frill ride just a quick scoot up the hill to remember an old friend to all and a fellow rider. Of course this ride is weather permitting. Hope to see you there!

Lake Alpine has been excellent fishing this past week due to the large number of fish planted two weeks ago. The fish have not been large, but very plentiful. The earlier you can get there the better you will do. Bait casters should try Gulp Power Eggs, Gulp Power Bait, Floating Power Eggs, Gulp Nightcrawlers, inflated nightcrawlers, and salmon eggs on a 24" to 30" leader using a sliding sinker. Lure casters should try Kastmasters, Panther Martin spinners, and Rooster Tails. Trollers should try Apex, Needlefish, Glo Bugs, ..... |

The building is between the post office and the library just off Highway 4....

This past Saturday, twenty one volunteers from our community joined USFS Trail Manager Lonnie Allison in another glorious day of trail building and enjoying the pristine forest. As is our custom, we met at the Forest Service Office in Hathaway Pines at 8:30 am where Lonnie gave us an orientation on trail building safety. We then went into the National Forest near San Antonio Creek and built another section of new trail. Afterwards, we enjoyed snacks along San Antonio Creek. Several of the younger volunteers enjoyed cooling off in the clear creek pools. Everyone had just a wonderful time and we finished up around the usual time, 1 pm....

Sally Raubfogel hosted the kickoff party. Claire Linney, Shirley Stroble, Marijean DAvis, Shar Sylvester, Judy Bojak, Margaret Donnelly, Shari Gong, Julie Lapham, Chris Bernasconi, Debby Lamb, Sherry Tittle, attended as well as Sally & Carolyn and Whit Whitfield. |
