Angels Camp, CA...The Calaveras Enterprise Hosted a District 4 Supervisor Candidates Night this evening at the Bret Harte Theatre in Angels Camp, where there were approximately 40 people in attendance. We had the pleasure of broadcasting this event "Live" for your viewing pleasure. Incumbent Supervisor Tom Tryon and his challenger, Councilman, Lee Seaton were present for this evening. Lee Wilson turned himself in at the Calaveras County Jail Monday, September 8th, morning. Wilson was wanted for shooting his brother Jimmy Wilson during a birthday party at a residence in Avery. Lee Wilson was booked for assault with a deadly weapon and is being held at the Calaveras County Jail in lieu of $235,000 bail....

Calaveras County, CA....We sat outside watching the earth billow up and settle leaving reverse furrows between the flowers and vegetables we had so painstakingly been protecting from the deer for the past couple of months. Days before, we noticed that something appeared to have “tilled” the ground near our front porch, providing soft spots in which to twist an ankle.....

Lake Alpine has been steady early in the morning and late in the evening when it has been cooler. Trollers should try Apex, Needlefish, and Rapala's behind a small dodger tipped with a nightcrawler or try a flasher/nightcrawler combo, you should be fishing at slow speed. Fly fishermen have had success using midge flies, woolly buggers, nymphs, and sparrow nymphs in the late evening. Bank fishermen should try inflated nightcrawlers, Gulp Power Eggs, Gulp Power Bait, Gulp Nightcrawlers, floating Power Eggs,and salmon eggs. Lure casters should try Kastmasters, Panther Martin spinners, and Rooster Tails....

Murphys, CA....YeeHa was the signature chant this Saturday evening at the wonderful concert performance by Willie Nelson and Sara Evans. Sara's classic yet modern sounds matched perfectly with "living legend" sound of Willie Nelson. With the Ironstone Concert Series coming to a summer end, this was a show stopper and one of the most crowded concerts of the series......
