We'll be serving specialty drinks at the bar, providing an intimate ambiance and a lovely night to ring in the new year!

Arnold, CA...Ronald David Burns, Arnold, CA, age 84, died of a heart attack on Saturday, December 23, 2017. Ron was born on August 11, 1933 at Jefferson Hospital in Los Angeles, CA. He was the only child of, Norbert P. Burns (Paddy), originally from Pennsylvania, and Olive Anderson Burns, originally from Oklahoma . His son, Paul Norbert Burns, (62) and daughter-in-law, Lynn V. Burns of San Jose, CA, were with him as he passed away. He is survived by his son, Michael Scott Burns (64) of Ocean Springs, Mississippi and two grandsons, Christopher Patrick Burns, also from Ocean Springs, and Andrew Ian Burns from White House, Tennessee. Still friends with his ex-wives, Gwen, who lives in Coos Bay, Oregon and Maureen from Palm Desert, CA.
Artist Martha J. Wallace Passed Away on December 12 at 68

Arnold, CA...Martha J. Wallace passed away following a short illness on December 12, 2017 surrounded by her family and friends at the age of 68. Born in the Bay Area, Martha spent her youth in Castro Valley. She studied art in high school and college and began painting in watercolor in 1975. Martha, and her family settled in the Arnold area in 1977.

Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! Another beautiful day is in order as the high will be around 49F and mostly sunny skies with SE winds in the a.m. then shifting to the SW in the afternoon from 3-7mph. The ridging continues into Friday and the a weak low passes through late Saturday night and into Monday. There is a struggle between the GFS and ECMWF models for something on Wednesday but the differences lead to low confidence of a solid chance of snow mid week following the weekend at this time. It's a great time to take a lesson or just bring the Family up for some tubing or a try at the climbing wall we have set up off the Lower Breezeway deck. A very Happy Holidays to all, we're about "Pure Mtn Fun" so come check us out this Winter !!!!! stay tuned.

Bear Valley, CA...Paul Says Santa's Helpers have been working hard to put together some activities for Christmas week Tuesday, December 26th through Sunday, December 31st, we anticipate being gainfully open with: Tubing from 9am to 4pm (ages 3 & up) Snow Biking (limited availability) from 9am to 12 noon. Beginner Cross Country Ski Lessons at 10:30am. Meadow Café from 11am to 3pm. Morning Holiday Ice Skating for 1 hr. sessions from 9am to Noon snow & ice conditions permitting. (Sorry, there will not be any groomed cross country ski trails or xc ski rentals available until we receive more snow.) We have 125 pairs of new XC skis in stock, our service department is open and the new winter clothing and gift items are looking great. San Andreas, CA...From the Calaveras Sheriff's Department..."Today our Sheriff's Deputies and Explorers completed the weekend of gift giving with this young boy who recently lost his mother and sibling in a car accident. Deputies learned that the boy wanted a dinosaur for Christmas so they shopped for the biggest stuffed dinosaur they could find. A small gesture worth the big smile."
