Arnold, CA....We like to keep you our viewers up to date on how Matthew McCullough is doing so you can continue to keep he and his family in your thoughts and prayers. You can visit a website set up for Matthew at"As of today, 5/19/08, Matt is enjoying about four more weeks at home, before his second round chemo. Matt was able to come home on the 9th, after he had his surgery to place his feeding tube in his stomach. His second blood transfusion went well. Matt needs to eat through his feeding tube 18 hours a day. He’s being fed a formula, which gives him his vitamins and nutrients. It looks as though Matt has gained a few pounds, since he’s been home and on the feeding system. We need to put 8-12 more pounds on him, before he starts his chemo......

Arnold, CA....The Harbinger Gallery in Arnold is pleased to welcome back the very talented oil painter Sarah Evans from Murphys. Ms. Evans has participated in several two-person and group shows at the Harbinger during the past 12 years, but this year she is scheduled to be the sole featured artist during the busy Memorial Day Holiday weekend, and throughout the month of June. Arnold Lions Attend Mountain Region District Meeting in Murphys

Murphys, CA...Twenty three Arnold Lions attended a two day District Meeting in Murphys organized by Lion Bob Zetterberg, Mountain Chair and a member of the Arnold Lions. Friday, May 9th was a social starting with dinner for 93 Lions from 65 Districts at the Foothill Restaurant in Murphys. Then off to the Black Bart Playhouse to watch the felonious comedy “The White Sheep of the Family.” .....

Forest Precipitation....Based on data from Pinecrest, Mi Wok and Groveland Ranger Stations, forest precipitation to date is 57% of average. This is a drop from 63% a month ago due to April being extremely dry (.18" at Pinecrest and Mi Wok; .12 at Groveland). This is the driest March-April period on the forest based on 45 years data at the Pinecrest site. It appears that this water year (2007-2008) will end with about the same precipitation as 2006-2007. If so, this will be second driest back-to-back year period on record, surpassed only by the extreme drought of '75-76 and '76-77. This year is more deceptively dry than last because we had a lot of snow in January and February. However, last fall was very dry and it....
