Angels Camp, CA...Stop by the Calaveras Humane Society's Thrift Store Cat Adoption Center in Angels Camp, located in Angels Town Center at 240 S. Main St./Hwy 49. Angels Adoption Center hours for this week are Fri.-Sat., 11am to 5pm. Cat lovers, please come and meet Stella, and learn all about her recovery story! She's a very special sweetheart who needs a loving indoor home. We will also have kitties available to meet you at our Arnold Adoption Center, located in Meadowmont Center next to Big Trees Market, open Fri.-Sat. this week, 10am to 5pm. Both Adoption Centers will be CLOSED on Thursday, April 16. Come in on Friday or Saturday if you'd like to meet some kitties this week!

Arnold, CA...Robert “Bob” Manning passed away peacefully surrounded by family after a brief illness in Spokane, WA. on April 12th.. Born September 10, 1928, he is survived by his soul mate of 65 years, Barbara and children Joan, Bob, Tom, Dave, John, Carol, Chris, Patty, and Laura. As the Manning Family patriarch and community volunteer, he was known for his honesty, integrity, compassion and rock-solid faith. His family, including 18 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, were the love of his life...

Arnold, CA...As most of you know by now that we have a problem disposing of the pine needles this year. From what I understand on or about March 25, 2015 the co-generation plant has stopped/reduced the amount of pine needles they will be accepting. So this affected all of us business owners that do lot clean up as well as landscapers and anybody who has dealings with yard debris. This also affects the local residents as well... |

Arnold, CA...April 6, 2015–The Calaveras Youth Mentoring Program is pleased to honor Arnold resident Kristen Schott as its April 2015 Mentor of the Month. Kristen has been a resident of Calaveras County for thirty years. She raised her son and daughter in Arnold and has worked for Mark Twain Medical Center as a nurse for seven years. “Kristen is one of those amazing volunteers who quietly goes about strengthening our community without drawing attention to herself,” said Colleen Dolan, Coordinator of Mentoring Programs for the Calaveras County Office of Education. “She is one of our community’s unsung heroes, and we are honored that she chooses to volunteer with the Calaveras Youth Mentoring Program.”

Arnold, CA...Local dog professionals came together in Arnold Saturday benefit the Calaveras Humane Society and local dogs for a day of nail trimming! DON’T WORRY - If you missed this, you can still take your pup to Angels Camp on Monday for a second clinic. That will be held at the Humane Society’s Thrift Store located between Rite Aid and Save Mart. Times for Monday are 3-5 PM. The clinics are hosted by Swingstar Collies, The Groom Shop, Carrie Stroble, Aloha Boarding and Training, and Snip-n-Clip Doggie Salon.
Carrie Stroble and Laura Dickey were the guest pedicurists at Saturday’s event in Arnold.
Above, Laura Dickey, owner of Snip-n-Clip Doggie Salon trims the nails under the watchful eyes of the dog - all ended with smiles and wags. Below, an unidentified happy customer and owner smile during the pedicure.
