So you’ve decided to move to the country, where lawn and yard décor take on a whole new meaning. There are no pink plastic flamingos to be found out here. We country folk have a different way of decorating the outside of our humble abodes. Just to give you a hint, we have a real hard time getting rid of anything, and I literally mean anything. Things that city folk might consider junk, we might just consider lawn art.....

Who knew we country folk would be on the cutting edge of “eco-art.”

Steve Edwards passed away on April 14, 2009 from brain cancer. He was 55. surrounded by the love of his family and friends at his passing. He was
He had many adventures in his life. After growing up in Garden Grove, CA, he served in the Army, spending time in Europe. After he was discharged from the Army, Steve found his true love, the Sierra Nevada Mountains. He worked on the Spicer Dam Project and worked for many years at the Mount Reba Ski Resort. He worked for the Vallecito Union School District since the mid 1990s in many different capacities.....

Arnold, CA...."Our Lady of Sierra of Arnold, "Care for God's Creation" is a group that offers parish members a way to take care of the poor environmental issues. My mom started a battery recycling program at her church the year after my dad died. She said that if she didn't have a purpose then, she would not be here today. Now it is 3.5 years later and she has just hit 20,000 batteries from her church in Alameda. I decided to follow in her.....

Angels Camp, CA...Last night at the Angels Camp Business Associations meeting at Camps the primary focus was Branding and the Marketing of Angels Camp as the "Lauching Pad" for recreational activities in the foothills and the Sierras. Before the start of the presentation Michelle Lee with the Saddle Queen Contestents for 2009. The young ladies introduced themselves to the Angels Camp Business community. The Angel Camp Branding Committee has done yoemans work building on the initial plans developed by Destintion Development. Rosie Sundell...

Arnold, CA...Pete Ochs (1948-2009) passed away at his home on Friday April 3rd. He will be greatly missed by all of us at Big Trees Market. His infectious laugh, gregarious personality, not to mention his many years of produce experience and expertise will be all but impossible to replace. Pete was one of kind and his passing has left a huge void in the Big Trees family. He will be fondly remembered by all of us.
