GABA Rolls Into 2017 With New Leadership in Arnold Business Community

Arnold, CA...GABA, the Greater Arnold Business Association, is forging into 2017 with a renewed spirit of service to its members and the community. Several roles have changed for 2017. Bob Doten, a local realtor and GABA president for 2012-2013, resumes the helm as president while Arnold Postmaster Linda Baker takes the job of vice president. Continuing as treasurer is Debbie Bertini, co-owner of Bertini Mechanical and P&D Builders. Owner of Dorrington Realty Linda Payton has assumed the duty of secretary.

Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! Wednesday is here and the current storm system is just off the coast and will begin later this evening......Today though the high will come in around 49F with SSE winds from 7-9mph and shift to the SW tonight and increase up into the 10-23mph range. As the upper ridge begins to break down today increased clouds and winds will ramp up as later tonight we could see a slight amount of snowfall in the 1-2" range as the storm front brings with it cooler temps and lower elevation snowfall around 5-6000'. Thursday we could pick up 4-8" during the day as the first wave arrives then a brief decline in snowfall for Friday during the day. Friday will ramp back up as he second wave impacts the Sierra with another possible 3-5" during the day and 3-7" over Friday night and into Saturday. Continued snow will happen through the weekend and into the beginning of next week currently so come up to Bear Valley and experience our local "Pure Mtn Fun" ethos and stay tuned..........

Arnold, CA...Here is your chance to immerse yourself in the Natural History of the Sierra Nevada at Calaveras Big Trees State Park. Join Doc Nancy for a day of in-depth nature exploration. In addition to topic presentation, walks and demonstrations, attendees will learn interpretive techniques as well. All walks are classed as “easy,” with the longest a 1.5 mile stroll around the North Grove. This program is free to all interested persons and is sponsored by CBTA. RSVP with CBTA (795-1196)

San Andreas, CA...Patient convenience and satisfaction are critical goals for Dr. Lonnie Smith, the new Chief Medical Officer at Mark Twain Medical Center. Dr. Smith joined the MTMC Leadership Team in November with responsibilities that include overseeing operations of the hospital’s five Rural Health Clinics and three Specialty Care Centers. Clinic administration is just one of Dr. Smith’s multiple roles as CMO. He is also the senior physician executive working with the administrative team and medical staff to recruit and retain doctors, contract for specialty services, oversee several departments including Physical Therapy, X-Ray, Laboratory – and more. The clinics began serving local communities over 20 years ago and have been a major focus in Dr. Smith’s first months at MTMC.
