REMINDER....Meadowmont Area in Arnold to be Temporarily Without Water on June 4, 2008

Posted by: Kim_Hamilton on 05/28/2008 08:58 PM
Arnold, CA....CCWD plans to replace the Meadowmont Shopping Center PRV and Arnold Transmission Line on June 4th, 2008. This will cause temporary water shut offs in the area. The plan is to shut down the 10" transmission line that runs along the Meadowmont Golf Course on June 4, 2008 at 12 midnight. During the shut down, the AIMS PRV that feeds the shopping center will be replaced with a 6" Cla-Val PRV. As well they will install a 10" valve with a 2" bypass valve in the main transmission line. This valve will allow CCWD to feed the Shopping Center from the Meadowmont Tank side in case of an emergency break east of the PRV. See CCWD Press Release enclosed.....

Posted by: Kim_Hamilton on 05/22/2008 02:08 PM
Sacramento, CA....After seven years of litigation, the California State Supreme Court released a decision today that directly affects clearcut logging plans by Sierra Pacific Industries (SPI) in the Sierra Nevada region. The Court’s decision favored the lumber company in its claim that it does not need to do a more thorough job of assessing the cumulative impacts of clearcuts on wildlife across its vast timberlands in the State. Rather than ruling on the merits of whether or not clearcuts were harmful to wildlife or whether herbicide spraying caused environmental damage, the Court narrowly focused on technical points concerning adequacy of review....
