Arnold, CA....We had the great pleasure of stopping by the Arnold RIM Trail work day on Saturday morning. Volunteers hard at work, led by Forest Service Trail Specialist, Lonnie Allison, are helping to make the "dream" of a hiking, cycling and equestrian trail that encircles the Arnold area a reality. Over 10 miles of the proposed 30 mile RIM Trail are ready for your outdoor enthusiasm.....

"Santa" Lonnie Graham passed away on Saturday, July 18th....Memorial Service Planned for August 1st at White Pines Lake

Arnold, CA....Lonnie Graham, longtime resident of the Arnold area, passed away at home on Saturday. Also known as the "Arnold Santa", Mr. Graham was 78. Lonnie was a past President and Charter Member of the Arnold Lions Club and had been the "Arnold Santa" for over 20 years. He will be missed by so many! A memorial service will be held at the Lions Grove at White Pines Park on August 1st at 10am. Please keep the Graham family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.

The 2009 Dick Heisinger Memorial Golf Tournament was another success for the Ebbetts Pass Moose Lodge 1123. Thanks to everyone who helped or participated in this event. Businesses and individuals sponsored tees and holes and donated raffle prizes for this event. It raised $9,804.20 for the Visiting Nurse Association of the Mother Lode Hospice of the Sierra. These funds are dedicated for Calaveras County. ...

Central Sierra/Hwy 4 Fishing Report for July 12th, 2009~by Bill Reynolds

Lake Alpine has been recently planted and fishermen are catching fish. Bait casters should try Gulp Power Eggs, Gulp Power Bait, Floating Power Eggs, Gulp Nightcrawlers, inflated nightcrawlers, and salmon eggs on a 24" to 30" leader using a sliding sinker. Lure casters should try Kastmasters, Panther Martin spinners, and Rooster Tails. Trollers should try Apex, Needlefish, Glo Bugs, and Wedding Rings behind a small dodger tipped either with a nightcrawler or a Gulp Nightcrawler. Fly fishermen have been using woolly buggers, stone fly nymphs, ants, adams, stimulators and bead head nymphs....

Dear Arnold Rim Trail Enthusiasts... Please note there is a trail building day this Saturday, June 20th, and a General Quarterly meeting on Tuesday, June 30th. Upcoming Trail Work Days are Saturdays, July 18th, August 22nd from 8:30 am to around noon or 1 pm. These days are loads of fun... if you haven't joined one yet, please consider doing so. There hasn't been a work day when we didn't have participants from each of the three groups who will be using the Arnold Rim Trail, the equestrian, hiking, and bicycling communities......

Arnold, CA...Vietnam veteran James R. Telezinski died Friday, July 3, 2009. He was 59. A native of Alexandria, Va., Mr. Telezinski was born Oct. 26, 1949. He moved from San Jose in 1978 to Dorrington with his wife, Judy, and there they raised two wonderful children. He was loved and respected in the community. His love for his family and friends, and his community services, will leave a void in everyone’s heart that will never be replaced...
