San Andreas, CA...At yesterday's Calaveras County Board of Supervisor's meeting, San Joaquin County Building industry representatives and Burnell Wealth Management's Principal, Cory Burnell, were on hand on hand to speak on behalf of the Trinitas project. They exhorted the county to let the project move forward for fiscal reasons. The planning commission date to review the revised draft environmental impact report has now been pushed back until February. Other and potentially larger developments.....

The "Calaveras Train Guy", Rich Kotowski

Calaveras County, CA....Rich "Lionel" Kotowski has been collecting trains for decades. His specialty is Lionel but he also collects other brands as well. Before he moved to Calaveras County he was a train legend in Lodi, CA. His hobby are Lionel trains from the 1950's - the 1970's. Rich brought just a small sampling of his collection to the St. Patrick's Christmas Arts & Crafts Show. In addition to the Classic Old Steam & Diesel Locomotives He has all kinds of specialty cars as well. He even displayed Santa and Mrs. Claus working on a hand pumped Christmas Car. Rich just loves trains....

Downtown Murphys Was Buzzing Friday Eve for their Annual Holiday Open House and Parade....with Video Enclosed!

Murphys, CA....In addition to the great photos Hanna took at Murphys Open House yours truly shot a bit of video of the parade and we also tried to stop by many of the businesses to see how everyone was doing. The new tasting room was already open in the old Jillian's (Jillian's is opening in their new Hwy 4 location Dec 10th) location. They turned it around in less than a day. Everywhere we turned traffic and visitor counts looked good. SNAC was busy, The Enchanted Workshop was packed, The Wineries were rolling the cases out the door...

Angels Camp, CA...The Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce has been one of the driving forces in pushing a real Economic Development Agenda for the county. From the Economic Summit in July, to the approval of an economic development element to the Calaveras County General Plan yesterday at the Board of Supervisor's meeting, the Chamber has had a large part in this. The Chamber and Executive Director Diane Gray has been out in front leading the charge to make sure the county enhances it's position as a place to do business. We had the chance to spend a few minutes chatting with Diane Gray at the new and larger office that the Chamber will be moving...

Angels Camp, CA...The Angels Camp Business Association held a very informative meeting on Monday night at Camps. The Angels Camp Police Department's Crime Prevention Officer Kathy Maxwell gave a very nice presentation on what retail businesses can do to lower their risk of Holiday Crime. She talked about what are the favorite items to steal, what types of crimes are most prevalent including: Smash and Grab, Ram Raiding, Shoplifting, Burglary and more...

Angels Camp, CA...Jeremy Leonard & Scott Soracco joined us on Friday night to add "play by play" to our broadcasts. They will be back next week as well to Bring you the 2008 playing of the Big Game. We would like to thank them for assisting us! Friday night the Frogs did come up on the short end of the score but they were able to move the sticks and Joe O'Gorman drove in a couple of field goals including another strike of over 40 yards.
