Join The Calaveras Winegrape Alliance on June 2, for Their Annual Wine Industry Vineyard Tour |

Murphys,CA...On Friday, June 2nd, the Calaveras Winegrape Alliance (CWA) is set to host 50 invited guests for our annual "Wine Industry Vineyard Tour". Hardeep Singh, UCCE Local Food Systems Advisor for our wine region, will be guiding this years tour Attendees will get a rare look at a variety of Calaveras County’s vineyards, including some that are not open to the public. This year's tour focus will be "Innovations in Grape Growing & Vineyard Management". The vineyard tour will be hosted by CWA's Education & Events Manager, Mark Silverstone. Invited speakers include Andrew Brown, USDA-NRCS Soil Scientist and Scott Oneto, University of California, Agriculture and Natural Resources Advisor.

San Andreas, CA...A-1 has been Serving Calaveras county, central California valley and surrounding areas since 2007. They offer full service repair and sales of tractors, mowers, trimmers, chainsaws, logsplitters, generators and rototillers. In addition, they provide sharpening service for chainsaws, mower blades and circular saw blades. They are located at 660 E. St. Charles St, San Andreas, CA.

Mountain Ranch & Valley Springs, CA...In 1950, we started out as a family operation with Erich’s father and mother, August and Freida Sender, in a century-old adobe building. The upstairs was home to the Sender family, and the first floor included groceries, a meat market, a bar, and a small eating place called Opa’s Smokehouse. On Christmas morning in 1968, the old store was destroyed by fire. But in June 1969, Sender’s Market, Inc. was opened. Since that time, there have been many changes, including remodeling, expansion, and the addition of many employees. That’s also when we added the truss plant and purchased Sender’s Market Ace Hardware in Valley Springs. Today, we’re still family owned and still working hard to stock everything from pantry essentials to power tools. Whether you’ve got questions about the perfect cut of meat or the right kind of paint, our helpful, knowledgeable staff has you covered. Click on images below for larger versions.

Angels Camp, CA...On April 25th, twelve Bret Harte FFA members made their way down to Delta college to receive their California State FFA Degree. The State FFA degree is the highest honor that the state of California can bestow upon a FFA member. Qualifying for your State Degree is no easy task; it requires time, income, and years of service within the FFA organization.
