Valley Springs, CA...The VA Rural Outreach is scheduled for this coming weekend at the Veterans Hall in Valley Springs. It is free for ALL Veterans in Calaveras County. The VA is bringing a mobile unit with two exam rooms, two medical providers, a health tecnichian, and an enrollment specialist. We will also have two Calaveras County Veterans Service Officers available to assist with benefits and claims and other service providers available...

This group was developed for individuals who have had bariatric surgery. Friends and family as well as those who are considering bariatric surgery are welcome to attend. The group will meet once a month to provide ongoing support, encouragement, and education to succeed in lifestyle changes after surgery. San Andreas, CA, April 6, 2015- Mark Twain Medical Center, (MTMC) along with other national, state and community organizations, are leading a massive effort to highlight the importance of advance healthcare decision-making—an effort that has culminated in the formal designation of April 16 as National Healthcare Decisions Day (NHDD). As a participating organization, MTMC is providing information and tools for the public to talk about their wishes with family, friends and healthcare providers, and execute written advance directives (healthcare power of attorney and living will) in accordance with California state laws. Beginning Saturday April 11th through Sunday April 19th, MTMC is welcoming the public throughout the day to the main lobby and the Out Patient Lab with free information about advance care planning and advance directive forms....

They found musculoskeletal disorders (sprains, strains, and tears) made up the largest percentage, accounting for 38 percent of overall injuries. Mark Twain Medical Center Announces 6th Annual Spring Health Fair & Lupus Awareness Fun/Run Walk |

San Andreas, CA...Mark Twain Medical Center (MTMC) will be holding its 6th Annual Health Fair and Lupus Fun/Run Walk on Saturday, March 28th from 8am until noon at Ironstone Vineyards in Murphys. Over forty community health related service groups will participate in this community-wide event. A wealth of information will be available on topics such as senior health services, health insurance, nutrition, and fitness. Low cost testing and services include Blood Analysis ($45), and Bone Density Screenings ($10). In addition to the five-panel blood analysis (this test consists of a chemistry panel, thyroid, complete blood count, lipid panel, iron for women, and PSA for men), the Medical Center will also now screen for vitamin D deficiencies....
