Past Smoking Rates Are a Major Reason For Shorter Lifespans

Posted by: thepinetree on 01/26/2011 01:24 AM
Washington, DC....The nation’s history of heavy smoking is a major reason why lifespans in the U.S. fall short of those in many other high-income nations, and evidence suggests that current obesity levels also play a substantial part, says a new report from the National Research Council....

Cost to Treat Heart Disease Will Triple by 2030

Posted by: thepinetree on 01/24/2011 01:21 PM
DALLAS, Jan. 24, 2011 -- The cost to treat heart disease in the United States will triple by 2030, according to a policy statement published in Circulation: Journal of the American Heart Association. "Despite the successes in reducing and treating heart disease over the last half century, even if we just maintain our current rates, we will have an enormous financial burden on top of the disease itself," said Paul Heidenreich, M.D., chair of the American Heart Association expert panel issuing the statement....

In This Economy There Is Good News When It Comes to Health Care~by Betsy Duncan

Posted by: Kim_Hamilton on 01/21/2011 11:18 AM
Jamestown, CA...All I can say is Wow!!! In this economy it seems like there is just no good news where health care is concerned. But I was delighted to find a clinic that caters to the needs of all patients. Even the uninsured. When insurance premiums increased to the extent that the equaled a mortgage payment, many people simply had to cancel their policy. It became a luxury that many American's could no longer afford. Sadly, residents all over Tuolumne and Calaveras counties are uninsured and not receiving the medical care they need. .....

Posted by: thepinetree on 01/19/2011 03:40 PM
Washington, DC..The House passed a resolution repealing the Obama Health Care legislation. It was largely a symbolic vote as the Democratically controlled Senate will most likely vote down the repeal along party lines just as the vote today was along party lines in the House...

Don’t Let Winter Stop You in Your Tracks!~By ThePineTree Pedaler, Brett Loring

So early this.....
