CCWD Headquarters Building Moving Right Along!! |

SAN ANDREAS, CA – The Calaveras County Water District (CCWD) began the construction process of building their new operations headquarters building just four short months ago in the heat of the summer. Since the start of construction, Simile Construction Service, Inc. (Simile) has been utilizing 70-80% of local Calaveras County subcontractors. “The building progress is running smoothly, on-time and without any change orders” said Lynn Gentry, Interim General Manager, during the District’s Thursday Board Meeting. Simile expects to have the roof on, the building weather tight, and all outside work completed before the wet winter months. Doing this will allow Simile to complete the interior finish work during the winter months to stay on target for completion in April of 2013...

The DSA is an affiliation of sworn deputies and personnel from the Calaveras Sheriff’s Department. They independently raise funds for causes that benefit and promote public safety in the County. They also work with schools to provide extracurricular activities and provide scholarships for students wishing to pursue a law enforcement career....

Washington, DC...The unemployment rate declined by 0.3 percentage point to 7.8 percent in September, and nonfarm payroll employment increased by 114,000. In 2012, job gains have averaged 146,000 per month, compared with 153,000 per month in 2011. In September, health care employment rose by 44,000, largely in ambulatory health care services. Over the last 12 months, health care employment has risen by 295,000....
