Lake Tahoe, Stateline, NV – The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency today voiced its strong support for legislation to reauthorize the Lake Tahoe Restoration Act that has been introduced in Congress by Tahoe’s Senate delegation. Sponsored by U.S. Senator Dean Heller (R-Nevada) along with Harry Reid (D-Nevada), Dianne Feinstein (D-California), and Barbara Boxer (D-California), the Lake Tahoe Restoration Act would authorize up to $415 million in federal funding over 10 years to help continue critical environmental restoration work at Lake Tahoe.

Cambridge, MA...Traditional industrial robots are rigid — mostly metal — as well as fast, precise, and powerful. Their speed and accuracy come at the cost of complexity and can often pose a danger to humans who get too close. Soft robots are adaptable and resilient but slow, difficult to fabricate, and challenging to make autonomous because most motors, pumps, batteries, sensors, and microcontrollers are rigid.

The Calaveras County General Plan Update Process Picks Up The Pace & Community Plans To Be Included

San Andreas, CA...Last night the San Andreas Town Hall was filled with a good sized crowd that weighed in on the now almost decade long General Plan update process. The Draft Plan was released on December 18, 2014. During the following 90 review and comment period there were over 400 comment letters submitted totalling over 1000 pages for review. The planning commission is scheduled to start the detailed review process July 9th. Planning Director, Peter Mauer at the start of last night's meeting gave an update on the process. One of the biggest items items of contention during the Draft Plan comment phase was on the inclusion of the Community Plans in the General Plan. In some instances local community members had spend hundreds of hours working on their visions for their communities. Direction was given to include the Community Plans in the General Plan.

Calaveras County, CA...Below is a great PSA on recycling from Cal-Waste. They finished Jan 2015 and have taken the video to EVERY elementary school and had an unveiling assembly. It features 5-6 students from every elementary school in Calaveras County and in Galt. Students were chosen by school staff. Cal-Waste wanted to get the message into the homes about recycling and thought this would be a great way to do that From all of us at Cal-Waste we would like to thank all of the schools, staff, students, and parents who participated and supported us on this endeavor. Copperopolis, CA...Last Thursday Copperopolis Town Square and Rovedatti's Bar & Grill played host for the June Chamber of Commerce Mixer. Live music, great food, ice cream and more kept the mood festive and those business cards flying between attendees. There were also ribbon cuttings for the three latest additions at Copperopolis Town Square. Yummy Ha! Ha! Ice Cream, The Learning Center & What You Seek Boutique were welcomed with speeches, giant scissors & red ribbon.
