President Obama On The Trans-Pacific Partnership

Posted by: thepinetree on 10/05/2015 01:34 PM
Washington, DC...I've spent every day of my presidency fighting to grow our economy and strengthen our middle class. That means making sure our workers have a fair shot to get ahead here at home, and a fair chance to compete around the world. My approach to trade has been guided by a unifying principle: leveling the playing field for American workers and businesses, so we can export more products stamped Made in America all over the world that support higher-paying American jobs here at home.

Sierra Pacific Industries Thanks Contractors for their Help with Butte Fire

Posted by: thepinetree on 09/30/2015 06:40 AM
Anderson, CA -- Sierra Pacific Industries (SPI) today expressed gratitude to local logging and road construction contractors who took tremendous risks to help control the Butte Fire that burned in Calaveras County, CA this month. During the fire, logging and road building contractors, timber fallers, trucking companies, and other related businesses mobilized equipment to various locations which proved to be critical to limiting the spread of fire. “These businesses and individuals made great sacrifices of time and effort, and in most cases took time off from their primary business activity to build fire lines for the protection of communities threatened by the Butte Fire” said SPI District Forest Manager Tim Tate. “We applaud the courageous efforts of local, state, and federal fire fighters, but the contractors also deserve credit for the work they accomplished,” he added.

The Butte Fire Mountain Ranch Community Meeting Video 9/28/15

Posted by: thepinetree on 09/29/2015 12:01 AM
Mountain Ranch, CA...We attended the Butte Fire Mountain Ranch Community Meeting at ground zero of much of the destruction of the Butte Fire. It is also where you see a great outpouring of community spirit helping those who have lost so much to start working their way back to normalcy. Our video picks up just after Cal-Fire had given their update and where community members talk of their efforts and needs. Similar subject matter as the San Andreas meeting but now details are being fleshed out and next week actual work starts on debris and hazardous materials removal starts. We saw several local contractors there speaking with CalRecyle reps and getting things lined up so they can help with the big clean up before the rebuilding can begin.

Posted by: thepinetree on 09/25/2015 11:25 AM
San Andreas, CA…One of the big, if not the biggest, item last night was that local contractors and crews are encouraged to take part in the Butte Fire debris clean up. With clean up crews spread over Lake Fire and other incidents besides the Butte Fire they are in need of local contractors and crews with equipment and crews who can clean each burned home site. Most will have to be taken down to bare dirt and even some soil may need to be removed to have a toxic free site for rebuilding.
