Calaveras County Sheriff Rick DiBasilio On Marijuana & Calaveras Public Safety

Posted by: thepinetree on 03/27/2017 03:32 PM
San Andreas, CA...I have been repeatedly asked about Marijuana and the safety of Calaveras citizens. In addition, marijuana cultivation has now become a land use issue based upon decisions by the voters and the Board of Supervisors. In 2016, the previous Calaveras County Board of Supervisors chose to allow large commercial cultivation inside of residential areas of Calaveras County through an “Urgency Ordinance.”

Posted by: thepinetree on 03/25/2017 08:49 AM
Washington, DC...In response to the withdrawal of the American Health Care Act after it became clear there were not enough votes to pass, American Federation of Government Employees National President J. David Cox Sr. issued the following statement: "Today is a win for working families in this country. The American Health Care Act was on the verge of being jammed through Congress, despite the obvious burden it would place on millions of Americans. Thanks to phone calls, letters, meetings, and protests, the American public let our elected officials know that passage of the AHCA was unacceptable.

Posted by: thepinetree on 03/25/2017 08:52 AM
Irvine, CA... New-vehicle sales are expected to increase 3 percent year-over-year to a total of 1.63 million units in March 2017, resulting in an estimated 17.4 million seasonally adjusted annual rate (SAAR), according to Kelley Blue Book www.kbb.com, the vehicle valuation and information source trusted and relied upon by both consumers and the automotive industry.  At 1.63 million units this month, the first quarter total comes in at 4.1 million units, up 0.3 percent year-over-year.  This would be the second highest first quarter on record, surpassed only by Q1 of 2000.  This also would be the highest March sales total since 2000, when sales hit 1.66 million total units.

Alaska Airlines and Virgin America Share Plans For Combining The Brands

Posted by: thepinetree on 03/23/2017 12:33 AM
Seattle, WA...Alaska Airlines and Virgin America today shared their vision for the future of the combined carrier, as the company solidifies its status as the West Coast's premier airline. After careful consideration, the combined company will adopt Alaska's name and logo, retiring the Virgin America name likely sometime in 2019. However, the combined airline will adopt many of the brand elements that Virgin America enthusiasts love about their favorite airline, including enhanced in-flight entertainment, mood lighting, music and the relentless desire to make flying a different experience for guests. The goal is to create a warm and welcoming West Coast-inspired vibe.

Copperopolis, CA...In 1895 James A. Tower was only 16 years old when, using barbed wire fencing, he strung the first telephone line for what was to become The Calaveras Telephone Company. Then in 1899, Mr. Tower, now 20 years old, negotiated an agreement with Sunset Telephone Company that would connect his subscribers by telephone with the rest of the world.
