CCWD Hires David P. Eggerton As New General Manager |

San Andreas, CA...The Calaveras County Water District Board of Directors is pleased to announce that David P. Eggerton has been hired as the new general manager of the District. His first day on the job will be December 1. “I’ve known Dave professionally for two years, and he’s a stand-up guy,” said CCWD Board President Scott Ratterman. “Everything I’ve heard about him has been exemplary. He’s a very upbeat, positive and capable person. I think he will be an awesome fit for our District.” Selecting Eggerton from a group of more than 30 qualified candidates was no small task....

Washington, DC...An open Internet is essential to the American economy, and increasingly to our very way of life. By lowering the cost of launching a new idea, igniting new political movements, and bringing communities closer together, it has been one of the most significant democratizing influences the world has ever known. “Net neutrality” has been built into the fabric of the Internet since its creation — but it is also a principle that we cannot take for granted. We cannot allow Internet service providers (ISPs) to restrict the best access or to pick winners and losers in the online marketplace for services and ideas. That is why today, I am asking the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to answer the call of almost 4 million public comments, and implement the strongest possible rules to protect net neutrality.

Washington, DC...The Postal Service kicked off the holiday shipping season today by announcing that it will be delivering packages seven days a week in major cities and high volume areas starting Nov. 17 through Christmas Day in response to expected double-digit package volume growth...

San Andreas, CA....We just checked in the Calaveras County Elections Office to get clarification on the latest results update. All that are left to count are 253 Provisional ballots. The results would have to be very one sided to change the results. Congratulations to the Winners.

Arnold, CA...As we say goodbye (Thankfully) to the election season of 2014 we thought we would post a few photos from some events held all over the county as a look back. Some of these had not made their way to the site yet. We also would like to thank all who threw their hat in the arena to strive for or get re-elected to public office. It is easy to throw stones from the sidelines but all of the contestants had the stones to actually join the fray. Thank You to all!! To those that came up short in the vote count the timeless quote from Theodore Roosevelt is right on the mark. “It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better.
