Posted by: thepinetree on 03/09/2017 07:50 AM

Pasadena, CA...Miso Robotics and Cali Group today unveiled Flippy, an artificial intelligence-driven robot that will work alongside kitchen staff to grill burgers at CaliBurger restaurants. Flippy had its debut at the CaliBurger location in Pasadena, California. A video demonstration captured the robotic kitchen assistant flipping burgers and placing them on buns. Flippy will roll out in early 2018 and expand to more than 50 CaliBurger restaurants worldwide by the end of 2019. Miso Robotics is pioneering the use of computer vision and deep learning software to bring lowcost, adaptable robotics into restaurants. The company's collaborative kitchen assistant handles the hazardous, tedious and time-sensitive aspects of grilling and cooks burgers to perfection every time. It easily integrates into CaliBurger's current kitchen layout without needing to reconfigure existing equipment.

Court Rules that Ban Proponents Offered False and Misleading Ballot Arguments in Support of Measure B, Orders All Challenged Arguments to Be Changed or Deleted |
Posted by: thepinetree on 03/08/2017 07:11 PM
|
San Andreas, CA...A Superior Court Judge has ruled that the authors of Measure B, Bill McManus and David Tunno, submitted numerous false and misleading ballot arguments in support of their effort to eradicate cannabis farming, even as the industry is poised to generate millions of dollars in local tax revenue. In a sweeping victory for Robert Bowerman, a longtime resident who filed the legal challenge, the Calaveras County Superior ruled on Tuesday that all eight of the ballot arguments challenged by Bowerman must be either changed or deleted before going out to voters.

Sierra Nevada Conservancy Updates Their Forest Health Report...In Their Opinion "From Bad To Worse" |
Posted by: thepinetree on 03/07/2017 09:30 AM
|
Auburn, CA...From the SNC "When the first State of the Sierra Nevada’s Forests report was released in 2014, conditions in the Sierra Nevada appeared to be at their worst. The Region had just experienced its largest fire in recorded history, the 2013 Rim Fire, and the trend toward larger, more severe wildfires in Sierra Forests was already clear. Restoration efforts in the Sierra were grossly out of pace with what was needed, and overgrown forests were starting to show signs of stress from only two years of drought. When the 2014 report was released, tree mortality wasn’t even mentioned.

Week One Op-Ed By Former Calaveras County Supervisor Tom Tryon On The "War On Drugs" |
Posted by: thepinetree on 03/06/2017 11:26 AM
|
Angels Camp, CA....After being elected to the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors I assumed office in January of 1985. A recall effort was initiated against me in the summer of 1985. The recall effort was launched due to my opposition to the “War on Drugs”, most particularly Marijuana. The issues of the summer of 1985 are the same issues we are discussing today concerning the legalization of Cannabis and Measure B on the special election ballot. I urge the good citizens of Calaveras County to vote NO on Measure B. I would also encourage the Board of Supervisors to adopt a permanent ordinance for cannabis legalization which addresses and corrects the valid complaints concerning the emergency ordinance. There will be a five to six week printing of documents concerning the issues involved in the recall effort of 1985.
