Mokelumne Hill, CA...“Holiday Belles” will be ringing out once again as the Ladies of Mountain Melody bring their musical magic to the foothills in four delightful seasonal concerts. Lots of new favorite tunes such as “Cool Yule,” and Gettin’ In The Mood For Christmas,” and old gems such as “Jingle Bells” and “Sleigh Ride” will get you in the holiday spirit! A new venue in Sutter Creek, the Old Grammar School, extends our concerts into Amador County, and we will also be a part of the Moke Hill Holiday Open House with a performance at Renegade Winery.

PG&E's PSPS Shut Off Scaled Back to Portions of 16 Counties & Amador Off the List!!

San Francisco, CA...Customers in portions of 16 counties have been given a 24-hour notification by Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) about a potential Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) starting Wednesday morning. Six counties won’t be impacted Customers in six other counties, originally notified that they would be part of the PSPS, have now been notified that they will not lose power, as weather conditions improved. Those counties no longer impacted are: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz and San Mateo.

19th Annual Hospice of Amador & Calaveras Tree of Lights Memorial Celebration is December 5th

Jackson, CA...The 19th Annual Tree of Lights memorial celebration honoring loved ones who have passed will be held Thursday, December 5 at 5:30 p.m. at the Hospice administrative offices located at 1500 S. Hwy 49, in Jackson. Please join the Hospice team as they light their beautiful 14-ft. blue spruce, donated and planted last year by Chad and Erika Simmons of Simmons Landscape. This tree will serve as the agency’s Tree of Lights for years to come. After the opening welcome by Hospice Chaplain George Stathos, the evening will include music, candle lighting, reading of the names, lighting of the Tree of Lights and refreshments.

No One Dies Alone Program Comes to Hospice of Amador and Calaveras. National NODA Program Offers Companionship in Final Moments of Life

Jackson, CA...Hospice of Amador and Calaveras has ushered in a new program for patients facing final moments of their lives without the presence of a loved one at their side. The No One Dies Alone (NODA) program is a national volunteer-centered program that was started in 2001 by Peace Health in Eugene, Ore. It has since been adopted and adapted for use by hospitals and hospice agencies across the nation, and it does exactly what the name provides: ensures that no patients will face their last moments alone.
