13 New Covid Cases in Amador County |

Amador County, CA – Amador County Public Health reports 13 more cases of COVID-19 since last Tuesday’s update, bringing the total laboratory confirmed case count to 1,764. The new cases include 6 males and 7 females, 4 children under the age of 18, 6 aged 18-49, 1 aged 50-64, 2 over 65 years of age; 7 residing in Ione, 1 in Jackson, 1 in Pioneer, 1 residing Plymouth/surrounding areas, 2 living in Sutter Creek/Amador City and 1 in Volcano. Tomorrow, April 28th, 2021, Amador County moves to the less restrictive orange (moderate risk) tier within California’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy. This move allows for more outdoor gatherings, plus additional retail, places of worship, theater, restaurant, and fitness center capacity as detailed on the Blueprint for Safer Economy Activity and Business Tiers chart.

Major Injures for Mokelumne Hill Man in Vehicle vs Building Collision Off of Hwy 88 |

Pine Grove, CA...On April 25, 2021, at approximately 1940 hours, CHP Amador officers were dispatched to a vehicle vs. structure collision on State Route 88 near Ranch Rd. The Mokelumne Hill man allowed his vehicle to cross out of the SR 88 westbound lane, across the eastbound lane, and down the dirt embankment. The vehicle ultimately collided into an unoccupied daycare center causing major structural damage. In addition, he sustained major injuries as a result of the collision. Alcohol and/or drugs are considered to be a factor in this collision.

One Way Traffic Controls on Hwy 88 on April 27th & 28th for Guardrail & Utility Work |

Amador County, CA...The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will employ one-way traffic control this week at two locations on State Route 88 while performing maintenance work. Crews will conduct utility work from Berry Street to Ridge Road from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 27, 2021. Workers will perform guardrail repairs at Shot Rock Vista from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 28, 2021. Motorists should expect 10-minute delays and take alternate routes whenever possible.

Arnold, CA...Well Ladies, Gents, Lads & Lasses the next few days looks to be this year's "Snow on the Dogwoods" storm. The forecasts, winter storm warning and more are below. The detailed forecast for West Slope Northern Sierra Nevada. Tonight, Mostly cloudy. At lower elevations, a chance of rain showers in the evening, then rain and snow showers likely after midnight. At higher elevations, a chance of rain and snow showers in the evening, then rain and snow showers likely after midnight. Colder. Lows 21 to 35 higher elevations...32 to 40 lower elevations. No snow accumulation lower elevations...up to 3 inches higher elevations. Snow level 6500 feet decreasing to 5500 feet after midnight. Prevailing south winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts to around 40 mph...except southwest 20 to 30 mph over ridges.
