Jackson, CA...(This is an interview from 2014 and we thought some of our readers might like to watch it in honor of her passing. She will be missed) We had the pleasure to spend a few minutes talking with Amador County CHP's new Lt. Commander Georgia Hiehle. Many of our readers may know Lt. Hiehle from her 12 years in Calaveas county as well as her community involvement. After leaving Calaveas County she has spent the last year back in major metropolitan market work in the San Francisco area before being promoted and returning home....

Flood Watch & Moderate to Heavy Rainfall Friday Through Saturday |

Arnold, CA...Flood Watch with Moderate to Heavy Rainfall Friday Through Saturday. A strong atmospheric river will bring wet weather into the weekend. Snow levels will initially be well above pass levels, bringing rain across the area, including the mountains. Some snow melt is possible due to the rainfall and warm temperatures. Stream and creek levels are expected to rise, and could cause local flooding. Ponding on roads is also possible, as well as rock and mud slides. Total of 1 to 3 inches of rain is possible in the Valley, 3 to 7 inches in the foothills and mountains.

Arnold, CA...From the National Weather Service Sacramento, you can expect Moderate to Heavy Rainfall Friday Through Saturday. A strong atmospheric river will bring wet weather Thursday into the weekend. Snow levels will initially be well above pass levels, bringing rain across the area, including the mountains. Some snow melt is possible due to the rainfall and warm temperatures. Stream and creek levels are expected to rise, and could cause local flooding. Ponding on roads is also possible, as well as rock and mud slides. Rain will begin Thursday and continue into early Sunday morning. Heaviest precipitation expected Friday night through Saturday morning. A total of 1 to 3 inches of rain is possible in the Valley, 3 to 7 inches in the foothills and mountains.

Sonora & Jackson, CA...Need help filing your federal and state income taxes?
The e-Bus will be in Jackson on April 9-10 and in Sonora on April 11-12 providing free tax prep to those earning $54,000 or less, the Amador Tuolumne Community Action Agency announced. The bus will be staffed with IRS-certified Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) preparers, who will complete returns and check to see if taxpayers qualify for the expanded, cash-back California Earned Income Tax Credit, or CalEITC.

Martell, CA...The UCCE Master Gardeners of Amador County will be holding a plant sale on Sunday, April 29, from 10:00 a.m. - 2 p.m at the American Legion Hall located at 12134 Airport Rd in Martell. Start your spring gardening off right by picking up your favorite tomato or other vegetable varieties which have been propagated and cared for by Master Gardeners. Not sure what to plant?
