New Temporary Emergency Closures on the Eldorado National Forest |

Placerville, CA...New temporary emergency closures are now in effect for high use areas where there are safety hazards associated with down trees, and other fire-related hazards in the Caples Fire burned area such as fire weakened trees, stump holes and loose rocks.

Lake Camanche and Lake Pardee to Reopen with Modifications |

Amador County, CA – Amador County Public Health has worked in collaboration with Amador County Environmental Health and Calaveras Department of Public Health to approve re-opening of both Lake Camanche and Lake Pardee with modified operations on May 8, 2020 for residents. Both concessionaires, Basecamp Hospitality and Rocky Mountain Recreation Company, in collaboration with East Bay Municipal Utility District, proactively drafted proposals to modify their operations to provide safe access to the lakes.

Oakland, CA...EBMUD wanted you to be aware of updates to our trail access in Calaveras County. The Calaveras County Health Department issued modifications to their Covid-19 Stay at Home Order. The April 29 order clarifies what recreation activities are allowed under certain conditions within the county. In Calaveras County, to limit the spread of Covid-19 and remain in compliance with the State Stay at Home Order.

Dirt Roads & Motorized Trails Open May 1st on the Eldorado National Forest - Other Closures Remain in Effect |

Placerville, CA...The seasonal closure of dirt roads and motorized trails in the Eldorado National Forest will be lifted beginning Friday, May 1st. However, damage could still occur from driving in wet areas and visitors will be responsible for any damage caused by inappropriate use. Due to melting snow, wet areas will be present in the forest for some time, especially at higher elevations. Many routes change in elevation over several miles. Visitors are encouraged to be aware of changes in the conditions of the roads they are using, and to adjust travel plans if they reach a wet section.
