Jackson, CA...Amador Arts’ free T.G.I.F. summer concerts move to Detert Park, next to the public swimming pool on Highway 49, in Jackson on Friday, June 29, from 6:00 pm to dusk. The park, with its ancient shade trees, will be the perfect spot to enjoy The Groove Union, a four piece local dance band, with a total of over a hundred years experience between the band members collectively. Fire Update....Vegetation Fire near Jackson on Hwy 88

Jackson, CA....If you look up you will see the air attack. Units from Columbia heading to a 2 acre vegetation fire near Jackson on Hwy 88. First on scene indicated they should be able to make quick work of it as it had bumped into a roadway. Update.. crews getting a handle on the fire and it is about 5 acres. Update as of 6:39pm...They are starting release units now. Update as of 7:37pm...this one will end up about 12 acres....

Amado...Crews are working an injury overturned vehicle accident that is blocking both lanes of Hwy 49 in northern Amador County...if you are heading that way this one may slow your trip...

Jackson, CA....Fresca is a 12 year old female (spayed and up to date with shots), kitty who needs to be the ONLY kitty in the house. She does get along with a dog too. She naps a lot, loves to go in and out and stays in the house most of the day and ALL of the nights! We have to move, and cannot take her with us, We want to be sure she finds the right forever home. Horseshoe Fire Update as of 5:53am This Morning

Copperopolis, CA....We just heard from CAL-FIRE's Lisa Williams that the Horseshoe fire will end up at 95 official acres and is 100 percent contained. Crews will remain on scene throughout today mopping up any hot spots.


We would like to thank Photographer, Author and Editor Charity Maness for the photo of this fire yesterday when it was at full steam.

Sutter Creek, CA...The duo of local residents Geff and Masha Goodman Crawford who called themselves “Old Soles” will be featured on June 22 at Minnie Provis Park in Sutter Creek as part of the free T.G.I.F. Summer Concert Series presented by AmadorArts. These talented two, who are music veterans of the Strawberry Music Festival and the Volcano Union Pub, will tune up their old-timey sounds on banjo and fiddle starting at 6:00 pm. Bring your own chairs and sustenance. Mosquito repellent might be a good idea....

Pioneer, CA..Crews are on their way to a reported motorcycle down in the Buckhorn area. Please use caution in the area.... Update as of 3:09pm...There is now a second accident in the Jackson where a vehicle has gone into the embankment on Hwy 49 at Hwy 88 in Jackson.
