PG&E Tracking Midweek Dry, Offshore Wind Event; May Initiate Another PSPS Affecting 209,000 Customers Including Amador & Calaveras Counties

San Francisco, CA...Since yesterday, Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E)’s emergency operations center has been open and teams have been monitoring a dry, offshore wind event. This afternoon, the company began its 48-hour advance notifications to customers that it may be proactively turning power off for safety and conducting a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) on late Wednesday evening. Approximately 209,000 customers notified that they may be impacted beginning late Wednesday evening. Potential PSPS Maps are below...

Prevailing northeast winds up to 10 mph shifting to the southwest in the afternoon. Tonight Clear. Lows 29 to 43 higher elevations...39 to 49 lower elevations. Prevailing southwest winds up to 10 mph shifting to the southeast after midnight. Saturday Partly cloudy with a slight chance of rain showers. Highs 43 to 58 higher elevations...55 to 65 lower elevations. Snow level 7000 feet increasing to above 8000 feet in the afternoon. Prevailing south winds up to 10 mph shifting to the southwest in the afternoon. Over ridges, prevailing west winds 10 to 20 mph increasing to 15 to 30 mph in the afternoon. Victoria Marquina, 17 from Sutter Creek, Has Run Away & May Be At Risk

Sutter Creek, CA...On October 10, 2019 around 1140 hours, the Amador County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a runaway 17 year old female named Victoria Marquina. A deputy responded and met with the Victoria’s mother in Sutter Creek. The mother informed the deputy her daughter failed to come home on Saturday October 5, 2019 after attending a concert in Sacramento. The mother was unable to contact her by phone the following day but later found her daughter’s vehicle parked near Main Street in Sutter Creek. The mother waited near the vehicle and eventually confronted her daughter about not coming home. The mother and daughter argued, with the daughter eventually leaving and telling her mother she was moving out. The mother stated she has called and sent her daughter several messages since Sunday October 6, 2019 and her daughter has not responded.

Alpine County, CA....A specified portion of State Route 88 in Alpine County has been designated as the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Highway. Today, Alpine County officials joined with Washoe tribe members, California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) officials, numerous state and county elected officials and surviving family members of veterans from Alpine County to officially unveil two memorial signs renaming the route to the “Vietnam Veterans Memorial Highway”.

Angels Camp, CA....The Mother Lode League Football Play continued this weekend. The Calaveras Football team won Friday's away game against Amador in Sutter Creek, 17-10. Argonaut took Friday's away conference game against Summerville 7-0. Sonora crushed Bret Harte in Sonora 69-0.

PG&E Restores More Than Half of Customers Following Public Safety Power Shutoff

San Francisco, CA... Weather Conditions in Nearly All Counties Now Safe to Conduct Inspections, Repairs and Begin Power Restoration; Majority of Customer Resource Centers Will Remain Open on Friday; Windy Weather Should Subside in Kern County by Early Friday. Pacific Gas and Electric Company reported late Thursday that more than half of customers impacted by the Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) have had their power restored. About 426,000 out of a total 738,000 customers have been restored, including full restoration in Humboldt, Siskiyou and Trinity counties. About 312,000 customers remain without power.

San Francisco, CA...Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) reported Friday at 12:00 p.m. that approximately 543,000 customers impacted by PSPS have had their power restored, including full restoration in Humboldt, Siskiyou, Trinity and Yolo counties. Less than 195,000 customers remain without power.
