Congressman Tom McClintock on H. Res. 489 , The Trump Racism Resolution

Posted by: thepinetree on 07/17/2019 08:27 PM
Washington, DC...Congressman McClintock delivered the following remarks yesterday on the House floor. The Congressman voted NO on H. Res. 489. "Mr. Speaker: We have unfortunately entered a period of our history when our political rhetoric has become hyperbolic, while our political views are becoming increasingly irreconcilable. We would all be well advised not to continue down this path. “America, love it or leave it” is not a new sentiment or a radical sentiment and it is certainly not a racist sentiment. It should remind us of commonly held and enduring founding principles that ought to unite us as Americans: respect for the rule of law, and the uniquely American principles of individual liberty, constitutionally limited government and personal responsibility that have produced the happiest, most productive and most powerful nation in the history of the world.

Plymouth, CA...Advanced Materials Processing, Inc. (AMPI) announced the award of their patent for cleaning mine waste and using the resulting deep-core earth as a source for natural fertilizer. Effective July 19, the patent covers the company’s unique, non-toxic process that will extract mercury from mine waste. The process also extracts precious metals like arsenic, gold, silver, lead and cadmium, leaving behind earth that is rich in beneficial minerals. According to Leonard Nanis, former University of Pennsylvania professor of chemical engineering and lead inventor, the patent also covers the company’s process of mixing the rock powder with bio-waste to create a natural fertilizer suitable for sustainable agriculture. The fertilizer will remineralize and restore plant essential nutrients that have been depleted by conventional chemical fertilizers, he said.

California E-coli Cases: Local Prevention Measures From Amador Public Health

Posted by: thepinetree on 07/09/2019 11:59 AM
Sutter Creek, CA – Recent confirmed cases of illness underscore the importance of practicing prevention measures when interacting with animals at county and state fairs. Seven cases of Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli developed in children after visiting the San Diego California county fair livestock barns. Two children were hospitalized and one has died. “The death of a child is always devastating,” comments Dr. Rita Kerr, Amador County Health Officer. “Prevention measures are important to highlight. Washing hands, keeping human food away from animal areas, and watching children closely are all steps everyone can take to remain healthy at our fair. Even healthy appearing animals can transmit germs.”
