San Andreas, CA...The Redskins rolled over the Buffaloes in Friday's away game against Amador by a score of 21-15. The Bret Harte Bullfrogs didn't have enough hop and Summerville leaped over them 49-3. The Argonaut Mustangs plowed Linden 40-7. In non-MLL local action The Sonora Wildcats had a happy homecoming against Weston Ranch with a final of 55-16...

RCRC Urges State to Make Past Due Payments to Counties

Sacramento, CA...Yesterday, the Rural County Representatives of California (RCRC) urged Governor Jerry Brown to honor the State’s legal and financial obligations to counties as related to the Department of Fish and Wildlife’s (DFW) Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILT). Angels Camp, CA...On 10/15/13, at approximately 3:25 PM, an officer from the Angels Camp Police Department was dispatched to the 1200 block of S. Main Street on a report of two females that were in a store and attempted to purchase $5,000.00 worth of jewelry. The reporting party advised that the females were also attempting to purchase items from other businesses in the area, and they felt that it was suspicious. When their credit card was declined for the purchase, the females left after stating that they would return after going to the bank. The officer arrived and checked the area, and initially did not locate the subjects...

CAL FIRE AEU Postpones VMP's

Camino – The Amador-El Dorado Unit of CAL FIRE has postponed the planned Vegetation Management Program (VMP) burn projects in Amador County until sometime next week or beyond depending on the weather conditions. "Due to the unseasonably warm and dry conditions and lack of precipitation, we do not currently meet the very specific set of conditions required to burn the piles on the Doaks VMP" says Unit Chief Kelly Keenan who adds "we will wait until we are in prescription and able to meet all the criteria before we move forward on both the Doaks and Shake Fiddletown projects."

Cooks Station, CA...CHP is reporting a fatality on Hwy 88 east of Cooks Station. It is a solo vehicle off the roadway accident. We hadn't posted anything yet as sometimes if it is a solo and not blocking lanes we will let them go by.
