Copperopolis, CA...Update 10:40pm: We just spoke to CAL Fire dispatch and were informed that there was a possible fatality involved in this home fire early this morning. More information to become available from the Calaveras Sheriffs Office as they are handling this case. As soon as we receive, we will update......A home on Pool Station Road was completely destroyed by fire early this morning. According to Ed from Cal Fire the home was fully evolved when crews arrived. The home was a total loss. We will post the fire report as soon as it becomes available.... |

While most of us view the day after Thanksgiving as a day of rest and relaxation, not so for the Rasmussen family. This family boasting a long lineage of cattlemen, six generations to be exact, come together each fall and each spring and intermittently throughout the year when dad Clayton needs a helping hand with the family business, which today included finding 100 plus head of cattle on over 1200 acres of land rounding them up and bringing them in for branding and vitamin vaccines....

Embracing the seemingly ageless tradition of a Thanksgiving Day football game, Copper volunteer firefighters opted for the ‘anti coach potato’ alternative and along with friends and family enjoyed a lively game of flag football to kick off their Thanksgiving Day. Teams were split as evenly as possible pitting fathers against sons, brothers against brothers, all in the name of fun.
