Copperopolis, CA...Crews are working a vegetation fire in the Copperopolis area. More to follow.. As of this time the fire is approximately 20 acres and they have the upper hand as the are releasing air assetts. The fire is in the Hwy 4 and OByrnes Ferry area

Angels Camp, CA...Live On!, a Calaveras County non-profit organization dedicated to breaking the silence and stigma associated with suicide is having their 3rd Annual Walk-a-Thon on Saturday, September 15, 2012. It will be held from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon at Bret Harte High School in Angels Camp. There will be a kids booth with crafts, snacks and supervision. Nationwide over 32,000 people die by suicide per year. Over 3,500 of those deaths are in California and Calaveras County has had double the national suicide rate per capita the last few years...

Copperopolis, CA...The Bodenmullers are very proud of their son Jeff who recently graduated from the CHP Academy and is now a newly minted CHP Officer. Four years ago Jeff Bodenmuller and Jason Buchanan attended the CHP Academy media day and did a piece for ThePineTree.net. According to his mother Gloria it was that visit that firmly cemented Jeff's plans to pursue becoming an officer. Congratulations CHP Officer Jeff Bodenmuller!!
