Copperopolis, CA.....It has taken some time for Michael to catch up on all his school work that he missed while he was away, which was his first responsibility to do once he returned. I have a link to the photos that were just posted last night that were taken during the trip. When you see the pictures it really puts into perspective what a great experience for any child to have, win or lose. By entering his project he not only competed against other winners, he learned valuable tools on how to present himself, to be interviewed by the .....

HOSPITAL HOSTS DRIVE TO HELP NEEDY ANIMALS |

The Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital’s Employee Satisfaction Team is at it again! They have initiated a drive to help the many animals whose owners have been affected by the downturn in the economy. Effective immediately, anyone can drop off pet food, cat litter, animal treats, collars, leashes, and cat carriers at the hospital or the Family Medical Centers in Arnold, Angels Camp, Copperopolis, San Andreas and Valley Springs by June 30th. The desperately needed items will be forwarded to The Resource Connection, Animal Control and the Calaveras Humane Society. The hospital hopes to “Stuff another van” with the donations. ....

Copperopolis Area Business Association, in partnership with Frog’s Tooth Vineyards, thanks everyone for coming out and supporting the Copperopolis Country Run on Saturday, May 14th. Race day dawned with light breezes, sunny skies with high clouds, and temperatures in the 60′s and low 70′s – perfect for a country road running race. This year’s field was diverse in terms of hometowns, drawing in runners from the Bay Area, Tuolumne & Amador Counties, and from as far away as the Colorado high desert. We are proud to write that Calaveras County runners placed well in their respective races.....

Copperopolis, CA.....California's historic town of Copperopolis turned 150 years old last year. We in Copper continue celebrate our unique little town with our annual Homecoming Celebration and want to invite everyone who loves small town charm to join us. Copperopolis' Homecoming was started by our founding families for an annual get together. Now everyone is welcome for a celebration fitting a town that saw Black Bart's first and last stage coach robbery, hosted Mark Twain at a town social and has one of America's only family owned Telephone Companies. Are You Ready For Some Redistricting?? |

San Andreas, CA...The Great Redistricting Debate of 2011 starts with a redistricting study session tomorrow afternoon at 1:30pm in the Board Chambers. This will have big impacts on upcoming Supervisor Elections. If District 3 has lost population should it be enlarged to include Murphys? Should District 4 be adjusted to include Copperopolis? This would make this district easier to represent as then it would align with the school districts and be cleaner geographically. Should Supervisor Tofanelli's District be adjusted?

Murphys, CA...A weather system is starting to roll through. Snow is possible above 5,000 feet and rain and cooler temps are on the way. Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 71. Calm wind becoming west southwest between 7 and 10 mph. Tonight: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 43. West southwest wind between 8 and 11 mph becoming calm...
