Holly is the daughter of Robert and Dyana Moore of Copperopolis.Paulo is the son of Abilio and Bernardette Nunes of Oakdale. The Matron of honor was the brides sister Amber Tindell of Murphys. Bridesmaids were Kary Griffith, Monique Gzelle,Carlee Atkinson, and Kaegen Moore of Copperopolis, Courtney Spence of Angels Camp, and Marilynn Sanders of Murphys.The best man was Travis Truelock of Oadale. The groomsmen were Justin Barnes,Ty Reichards, and Kenny Buchanan of Oakdale, John Peirano of Angels Camp, Luis Moya and Hunter Moore of Copperopolis...

Copperopolis, CA...Local author Charity Maness will be the featured author at the California State Military History Museum in Sacramento on February 18, 2012 signing her latest non-fiction release "It's Lonely Here in Hell" Love Letters from Nam. April 9, 1967, in a letter from Jim Piper to his young bride Michelle, he wrote, "I thank God each night for my wife and my life and also enjoy each breath that I take and praise every morning I wake up too. It means another day gone, another day I'm alive and another day closer to being home with my wife forever."

Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease in Calaveras County

San Andreas, CA...Calaveras County public health officials have reported that Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease (HFMD) has been identified in students at a local elementary school. Eight cases of HFMD have been reported at Jenny Lind Elementary School. HFMD is a viral disease that causes fever, skin rash, and red spots or sores in the mouth. Infants and children under 10 years old are usually affected, but youth and adults can also become sick. HFMD is not related to foot and mouth disease, which occurs in livestock....

(COPPEROPOLIS, Calif.) – Copperopolis Town Square – the events, shopping and entertainment gathering place in Calaveras County – will host “Dog Day Afternoon” Saturday, Feb. 11 from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The event will feature live music from Crystal Image at 11 a.m. and a parade at 2 p.m. Raffle tickets are available during the event or in advance at Snap’s Coffee House & Wine Bar in Copperopolis Town Square. Prizes include $100 cash donated by Copper Valley Realty and additional items from Chloe & Zoey’s Pet Boutique. Participants do not need to be present to win. Raffle proceeds will benefit the Humane Society.

Copperopolis Burglary Suspects Arrested

Copperopolis, CA...On 02/02/12 at approx. 1313 hours, the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a commercial burglary at McCarty’s Inn in Copperopolis. According to the business owner, Nancy Turner, on 02/01/12 an adult male and female entered the laundry room of the business and vandalized two of the laundry machines. In addition, the suspects stole approx. $50.00 in quarters from the machines’ coin boxes; the laundry room has an exterior door at the front of the building. The investigating deputy ....

New Pre-School Opening in Calaveras County

Copperopolis, CA...Building Bridges Preschool anticipated opening March 1st. This is a program of the Calaveras County Office of Education through the California State Preschool Program. It will be located at the Extended Day Site on Copperopolis Elementary School campus. Our months and hours of operation are Aug – June; 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Children ages 3 & 4 are eligible and must be fully potty trained.
