Angels Camp, CA...Jr Bullfrog football starts Monday July 29. Practices will be held at Copello Park in Angels Camp at 5:00 pm. For those who have yet to register, it is not to late. Please come Monday with completed registration forms from amayouthsports.com. We take players from age 8-14, payment plans are available. Hope to see you at the park! Bring a friend.

Columbia, CA...With expanded course offerings available online, at the Sonora main campus, in Calaveras and in Oakdale, Columbia College is making registration easy for its new students attending the fall semester. Extreme Registration, or X-Reg, will be held at the main Sonora campus on Wednesday, August 14 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.—last seating for assessment/orientation is at 6:00 p.m....

Copperopolis, CA...The Chuckwagon Fire ended up at 31 acres and 100% containment was called at 2:25pm this afternoon. Great work everyone on this fire. Sometimes we can tell when fire crews are concerned about a fire from tone on scanner traffic. You could tell yesterday that during the first 1/2 hour or so of this incident there was concern and smoke in the air. Wave after wave of equipment and crews descended on this fire until they got the upper hand...
