Copperopolis, CA...On Tuesday, September 16, Hogan Dam Road will be closed to through traffic at the Bear Creek low-water crossing, approximately 3.5 miles north of the Hogan Dam Rd/Hunt Rd intersection outside of Copperopolis. The closure will be for 1 day, Tuesday 9/16, from 8am-2pm.... |

Pat Bradley, Pat McGreevy, & Leo Williams Were Honored At Senior Awards Luncheon |

San Andreas, CA...Three outstanding volunteers were recognized by The Calaveras County Commission on Aging on September 9, 2014 at the 2014 Senior volunteer of the Year Annual Luncheon. An enthusiastic group of more than 50 attendees congratulated Pat Bradley from District Three, Pat McGreevy from District Two and Leo Williams from District One. Supervisors Callaway, Wright and Edson each read the nominations which determined the winners of the event which started in Calaveras County in 1976. Each volunteer is very involved in so many aspects of community living here in the starting with the Sierra Nevada Logging Museum for Pat Bradley, the Calaveras Parks and Recreation Council for Pat McGreevy and the Covenant Church and Treats Market in San Andreas for Leo Williams. Their involvements are so varied and worthwhile....

Angels Camp, CA....Crews are working a vehicle vs tree incident on Hwy 4 near Pool Station. Please use caution in the area... Update as of 11:56am...just heard from local resident and firefighter Mike Borean who was stuck in the backup for this accident. He said crews did a great job of extracting the injured party from the vehicle. Roadway is opening back up now....

New Surgeon Recruited to Join Mark Twain Medical Center |

San Andreas, CA...Mark Twain Medical Center (MTMC) announces it has recruited Dr. Andrew C. McCoy to San Andreas, where he will provide surgical services for the Tri-County area. Dr. Andrew C. McCoy has joined the San Andreas-based Silver Oak Medical Office (SOMO) with Dr.’s Peter Oliver, Dean Kelaita, Shane Patterson, Sarah Grimes and Physician Assistant Ken Romans. “Dr. McCoy is a welcome addition to the communities growing health care needs,” said Craig Marks, Hospital President. “MTMC is committed to providing more and more needed services to the residents of Calaveras County and beyond. Dr. McCoy and his family are a great fit with our community and vision for Calaveras County.”

Mark Twain Medical Center Invited Patients & Community To Mix & Mingle With Their Providers |

San Andreas, CA...Mark Twain Medical Center has been on a roll. Patient counts are way up. MTMC is well down the path to recruit and bring 30 new physicians to the area. There have been new services, new equipment added, Medical offices spruced up and more. On August 27th, they held a meet and greet allow existing and new patients to get to know their providers outside of an office visit. Refreshments and Hors d'Oeuvres were served, offices available for tours and more....

Angels Camp, CA...The Bret Harte Bullfrogs dropped their non-conference game to Orestimba on Friday Night and are now are even in the win and loss columns early in the 2014 Season. The Calaveras Redskins dropped Friday's home non-conference game against Escalon by a score of 33-25. Around the MLL Summerville is undefeated so far followed by Sonora and Bret Hart at .500 and the rest of the MLL will be seeking their first wins of the season this week...
