Lake Alpine, CA...We just spoke with Randy at the Camp Connell Caltrans office and they expect to have Hwy 4 over Ebbetts Pass open by 2pm this afternoon. So as of this afternoon The Ebbetts Pass National Scenic Byway will be whole again for the summer. So get out the cameras, pack the car and go explore the high country...

Copperopolis, CA....A large crowd showed up this morning for the Ribbon Cuttings of several new businesses that are officially opening their doors today in the new Copperopolis Town Square. Supervisor Russ Thomas started things off with a great rendition of America The Beautiful and Castle & Cook's Dave Haley introduced the business owners and laid out plans for the new center. They include a specialty grocery store, wine tasting, several restaurants, a coffee and wine bar that will open soon, a Shell gas station & car wash, MTSJ is opening a complete 14,000 sq ft. medical clinic, Two Hotels and many more specialty retail...

Additional business are scheduled to open during a ribbon cutting ceremony on May 3, and a full slate of openings are scheduled for June, July and August (please see list below). Copperopolis, CA..."The Colonel Cantrell Copper Caper of Copperopolis OR Caught Cold with a Hot Cot Coil" written and directed by Linda Beck will be playing at the Historic Armory on O'Byrnes Ferry Road in Copperopolis on May 9th and 10th.. The comedy melodrama will benefit the Copperopolis Volunteer Fire Department. Tickets are $7.50 for adults and $5 for kids 12 or under. Casual Faire Food, Beer, Wine and Soda will be sold by The Copperopolis Community Center to benefit the restoration and preservation of the historic old Church and Armory buildings.....
