San Andreas, CA...One of the items on the Calaveras County Council of Governments Meeting agenda was the unveiling and launching of a new promotional tool to help market the new Foothill Ride Share program that helps match people with similar commuting needs. The CCOG's Tyler Summerset handled the unveiling and also said they are already getting calls on the program because of their new Toyota. ATCAA Wins Five County Technology Planning Grant...First Meeting on June 12th at Ironstone Vineyards |

The Amador Tuolumne Community Action Agency (ATCAA) has secured a $250,000 grant from the California Emerging Technology Fund (CETF) to help five rural Sierra counties improve high speed Internet access for all households and businesses. The one-year project, called ATCAA Central Sierra Connect, will launch with the first meeting of the project Advisory Council in the morning and a community forum at Ironstone Vineyards June 12 from 1-4 pm. The community is invited to come to learn about the project and how they can get involved in the one-year work plan......

Copperopolis, CA....The Calaveras Arts Council kicks off its 2008 series of free “Music in the Parks” on Wednesday, June 18, at the Copperopolis Town Square, starting at 6:30pm. If you haven’t yet visited this whole new town with a historic past, this is a good time. The free concert, the first of ten this summer in various parks of Calaveras County, will feature the seven-member “Second Wind.” Sail away with the smooth harmonies of this group from Amador County whose specialty of Doo-Wop has prompted them to subtitle their music, “Doo-Wop that Won't Stop.” The Replay is Enclosed....

Power Outage Hits Copperopolis (Update) Power Fully Restored |

Copperopolis, CA....There was a power outage that affected over 2,600 customers for just over an hour. Power was restored to all customers by 5:37pm. |

Copperopolis, CA...Larry Vile had the chance to stop by the Party being thrown to help fund Copperopolis Parks & Recreation. Larry has some great footage and he was also impressed by PINO who was performing as a special guest with Dan Burton and Copper Holdings Company. The burgers & strawberry shortcake were music to the tastebuds as well. The New Copper Town Square is increasingly becoming the "Place to Go" in Copperopolis. Two Small Grass Fires Reported Over the Weekend |

Calaveras County, CA........CAL Fire reported a 1/8 grass fire at 576 Main Street in Copperopolis on Friday May 30th. Cause is unknown and there were no injuries. There was a also a small spot fire at 129 Sequia Street in Valley Springs. This was caused from escaped ash from a BBQ. No injuries reported. CAL Fire reports are enclosed.....
